Will UNC become the next Clemson?

When Howell is gone after next year they’ll go back to being average at best.
They have drake maye coming in who they flipped from Bama at qb. He’s one of the top 5 qbs in this years class too plus more good skill players, couple good ol, a solid tight end, and a lot of elite defensive talent (lots of great lb) to add to grimes, Conley, and their elite dl from last year.

They’re not close to Clemson, yet, but the talent they’re bringing in is starting to approach their team in the late 90s as a top 10 program before Brown was bought by Texas. If they hit on another top 15ish class next year, then the gap between them and Clemson will close even more.

Next year they should lose their rbs and Dyami Brown but this past year they signed some top 300 skill guys and doing so again this year. They’ll be younger there but I expect their defense to be a lot better next year (was awful with so many young guys and opt outs this year).

honestly I thought before the season they should have only lost to Clemson and they underachieved this year, but the overall talent level will keep increasing.

btw, no Wr in history maybe has destroyed us like Dyami Brown. Two years in a row he absolutely blasted out secondary.

Sadly for us, UNC is still the average, light blue football team we’ve always known. We are just not good and certainly not ready for the big stage against middle tier ACC teams. The only reason anyone pays attention to UNC is directly tied to when they beat us. The one thing we still have is a marquee name...love us or hate us, people hear Miami and pay attention, albeit for various reasons.

UNC isn’t as good as we made them look. We have a habit of doing that with anyone with a pulse.

I saw no talent gap yesterday and they have much better coaching. Their loss to FSU was a head scratcher but everything that could go wrong for them did. They have pulled ahead of us and will own the coastal for years to come barring any major changes to our staff.

Mack Brown is like that country song. He ain't as good as he once was, but he can be as good once as he ever was.

Next year will be another battle

Howell will be a JR

King (hopefully) a Sr

DJ U(can’t spell his last name no disrespect to him) a Soph

ACC will be up for grabs.... and the future of the conference

Um NO, basketball school first. There aren’t many that are perennial Top 5 or even 10 in Basketball and Football.

Wisconsin and Ohio State close. Florida had a nice run in the 2000 aughts but not the norm

Clemson has hit big on three passers in a row. With a gap year in Kelly Bryant. Who wasn’t awful. Boyd was a great college QB. Watson first rounder. Sunshine top pick. Very simple. Parlay that success into good classes and combine that with stellar coaching. And you got what they got. Their defensive coaching is tops in the country. No contest

Bro any solid receiver blasts out secondary as long as the ball can get to him
