to be honest, I think a bunch of the kids really want the recruiting process to be over. Having it before Christmas opens them up to be with the family and all the hounds off their backs. I see it as a win win situation. You probably won't see anymore of the delayed signing on Feb Signing days anymore, which is probably a good thing.

I'm not saying this year.... but in the future. It seems like there was a big turnout for early signing and wondering if 5 years down the road, if the majority of kids will be locked in December.

this early signing period puts a lot of the leverage back in the hands of the coaches and the programs and will cut down on a lot of the games these kids play.

Coaches will know a lot more where they stand now so there will be a lot less getting left at the alter by kids flipping at the last minute.

If a kid doesn't sign early ( unless it's pre-planned like our AH guys) then a coach will tell the kid " you must not be 100% committed so you're looking we will be looking"...

you will still have NSD drama for fans because there will still be a lot of the upper echelon kids out there but they will pretty much know where they are going as will their new coaches to be come that day.

It might turn out going forward that the only ones signing in Feb are the real blue-chip prospects that can afford to wait, since coaches will be hesitant to give away their spots. The days of wannabes like Chief Keef playing games might be coming to an end (or at least reduced) which will be nice.

Its an advantage for teams with local recruiting bases. Its easy for our coaches during the season to see recruits. Harder for Saban to fly all over the country visiting HS kids Sept-Dec.

Huge advantage for us IMO.

Process will speed up even more next year with junior recruits being allowed to take official visits as well as seniors being able to take officials before august

It will definitely affect when coaches will be fired in future .... after the early signing period and bowl games instead of after the season.
