Edit: For what it's worth I feel the Vandenberg kid should have gotten a kidnapping charge instead of the rape charges. Does he have a chance on appeal?

Apparently they appealed, because one of the jurors failed to disclose that she was statutorily raped when she was a minor. Not sure what will come of it though.

At the end of the day, I'm not sure what the specific laws of TN state are or how they operate, but it may be a situation like with murder, where you can be charged with the offense even if you weren't the one to actually pull the trigger. Being an accessory to the crime may be enough to carry the charge. But again, I don't know for sure.

Was that specific question asked in jury selection? Truth is these boys were gonna catch it in the neck regardless. Absolutely impossible to get an unbiased juror in this case up here.

I'm not sure, but I'm assuming so. Otherwise, I don't think they'd have any kind of grievance.
