Why not turn the heat up on Blake James

Eff it, put pressure on EVERY. SINGLE. INDIVIDUAL!!! From the BOT, to Julio Frenk, to Blake James, to Al Golden. ****, put pressure on the janitorial crew that cleans the athletic department's offices. Leave no stone unturned.

seriously how does anyone have faith in blake to make any personnel decisions. does the guy know anything about football? the guy is a sales guy. when he says things like he'll wait to the end of the year to evaluate, i believe he really means that. he's a glorified salesman who has not one clue how to run an athletic program.
 
I see 3 possibilities with him:

1. He personally would have fired Al Golden after last year, maybe sooner, but BOT said they won't pay for buyout and he was made to keep him.
2. He thought it appropriate to give Golden this final year to prove himself. (If so, we better hope he gets canned too. He doesn't know enough football to select the next coach.)
3. BOT said he can fire Golden already, but due to the buyout, he can only pay the new coach a crap salary (and he'd probably have to give that coach a fair shot, at least 3 years). Or wait another year to offer new coach a more reasonable wage.

Obviously I hope it's not #2 . If it's 1 or 3 though, there's still a chance of him working out.

I think you're leaving out a 4th--and much more likely--option.

--Shalala didn't want to fire Golden and have to conduct a coaching search as her last act as prez. And Frenk didn't want to do that as his first act as prez, without seeing Golden in action for himself. So it wasn't really up to Blake either way...he has to get the approval of the prez to fire Golden, and because we were switching presidents, he had to delay it. And the buyout undoubtedly played a role too.
