Why has this staff still not offered 2016 DT Aaron Thompson?

We all know Keir Thomas committed to FSU this past week and is the latest kid from Central who plans to head to Tallahassee. This staff still hasn't offered him and deserves all the criticism it's getting for neglecting such a talented d-lineman from our own backyard.

But another 2016 DT this staff has inexplicably failed to offer is Dillard's Aaron Thompson, a 6'4", 255-pound lineman with offers from Clemson & Louisville who attends the same high school as new 2017 LB commit Tyler Dunning.

Thompson posted this on Twitter earlier tonight...

@ITSGREATNESS_99: Just waiting on my dream school offer #TheU 💁💁💁🙌

Thompson said in an interview with CIS last May, "If Miami were to offer me I would commit right there.” And yet this staff continues to drag its feet by failing to offer someone with strong interest in our program at a continually dire position of need.

Well first of all.... he is a DT. Here at Miami, we dont believe in recruiting DT's. Secondly, he WANTS to come here. We all know about how Al feels about offering kids who want to be here. He'd rather just wait till signing day before offering him than give him a offer now and get a guaranteed commitment.

You know the status quo:

1. LSU, UF, OSU, FSU, or Bama MUST offer
2. We will then wait approximately 1 week to look at film and see if the kid is legit
3. Offer

4. Kid goes out of state or to our in-state rivals.

man when are you people going to learn?!?!?!

I'm convinced Al and his crew take opiates... drive to the middle of the glades... and howl at the moon like coyotes... waiting on a sign from an Osceolan Indian on who to recruit only to end up at a slot machine thinking they jackpot

there is a premium on DTs in south florida. They don't come around often...and they were basically none in the 2015 class. Not offering this kid at this point is just shameful on the part of this staff.

This kid reminds me a lot of Easley with his get off. Great first step. His technique... Not so much. You can tell he's raw as **** which is means he's making Plays on pure athleticism. Could be a really good 5 and work his way into a 3 as he matures.

How do you watch this kid's tape and not offer him but offer someone like Ryan Fines ? Maybe too many TFL's in that highlight.

Back up off of Ryan Fines. For a 2 gap style of defense Ryan Fines is an ideal NT/DT. So please under the scheme before taking unnecessary shots at players that actually fit what UM does currently.

That said yes I like Thompson's film a lot, and I think he can add a lot of weight , so let's us see how the recruiting process works out. But Miami is chancing bigger and better DLine literally in 6'2" 330lbs 2016 DT Benjamin "Shug" Frazier who last spring had Miami and LSU as his top schools. Consider Frazier was benching 315lbs in the 8th grade for Reps mind you! Miami needs to lock this kid up!

“Miami and LSU are standing out to me, “ says Frazier. “They consistently check up on me and have showed the most interest. I have a lot of visits I want to take coming up and ideally I want to make a commitment before my senior season. I want to find a school where I can get a proper education and feel a sense of belonging from the coaching staff and players.”

I feel you Paranos. But how about we go after the kid that we actually have a legit shot at instead of a pipe dream? You know that country boy aint leavin SEC country.

We have a DT here in our own backyard that is the goods and can be developed AND is HIGHLY interested in being here. Why wait? I really don't understand this one.

ffs we have to send this kids tape in. we need to get Tyler Dunning to get in the coaches ear.

Frazier had Miami in his Top 2 last summer but then poof something happened, I am thinking the staff stopped making him a major priority which is a huge mistake. I also agree at this point miami needs to at least start recruiting Thompson an give him a non-committable offer just to lay the ground work.

This kid is a beast on the field as his tape demonstrates. This kid has been to Al's camp, tore it up at Al's camp, and was jonesing for an offer at camp. No one can understand why UM hasn't offered.

Just never satisfied..got about a millions offers out here and there's always somebody else you all want offered.

Nobody listens on this thread, not even to their own recruits when they speak their mind on fans so it'll probably fall on deaf ears

But go back to KB's interview and really listen to what he's saying..THEN start posting intelligent responses to threads..

Thompson's offer went to the nations #9 SDE 2016 Karamo Dioubate from Philadelphia. You know Al Golden looks north first before looking out of his office window for Linemen. But I will say this Dioubate is a player who can both set the edge and bring pressure. But is most likely a long shot for Miami where as Thompson is a local kid.
