Off-Topic Why are some posters even on this board?!

It’s all about perspective. Most here focus on the negative and completely ignore anything positive. Those that see anything positive are attacked relentlessly by the mopes who are miserable regardless of the performance of the team.

There’s also another faction that attempt to look at the big picture and see both the positive and the negative and realize there are many things out of our control and that there are countless variables that result in the performance of the team good, bad, or indifferent.

@RVACane called them bully slurpers. Their parallel are the mopes who find bad out of any good news.
 
Double digit seasons are rare but we act like this is 1990 or something.
Bowl wins are rare but we already dismiss the importance of our bowl game.
Beating FSU and UF in the same season are rare, but F- Mario and the Carretta he came in on.
Heisman candidates are rare, but we want McGahee and Dorsey to be competing on the same team for votes!

Man. What a bad season...

Honestly if you're still being negative and complaining about the Canes in 2024 then you're dumb as rocks. You have an inability to learn new information.

Since 1991 we've had one season that would be considered a success by this board. That was over 30 years ago. So if you're still whining then you haven't figured out that we will never be what we were. It doesn't matter the coach. It doesn't matter the player. We might peak and get a little better than this maybe if all the stars align we'll make the playoffs and get a run. But this is it. Enjoy it or don't but it's never gonna change.

95% of college programs can only hope to beat their rivals, have some fun, and maybe get a good bowl game. We are the 95%

An alternative way to think about it is that Miami has never considered ourselves the other 95%, and fans on a message board discussing the ups and downs of a program is 100% normal.

I had a bunch of fun at games this season rooting for the Canes - mostly on offense and usually in the 1st and 4th quarters. I had less fun when the team played defense, when the offense disappeared and when we choked against GT and Syracuse.

I don’t find it outlandish to discuss the goods and the bads. I don’t find it crazy to complain about finishing 1-2 against those squads, the weird commentary about the bunker and locking out recruiting only to then lose after being up 21-0.

Just because people don’t think Mario is the only coach that could coach at Miami, that the Pop Tarts trophy is dumb and that Dennis Smiff’s X wars are low brow, doesn’t mean posters are not having fun or rooting for the Canes.
