Our Flight is supposed to land in Fort Lauderdale at 9am Thursday. With this effing Hurricane I wonder if it will be delayed or cancelled.

Wondering if others on here have prior experience flying into an area affected by hurricane/tropical storms and what options the airlines typically offer. (ive heard 40mph winds or less were good) If they bump us a day up to Friday at no additional cost im cool. whatever. can take a loss from the hotel for one night.

Freaking sucks..hoping it veers right but I don't feel optimistic. We have lodging, rental car, etc all booked.

I know they'll be some douches respond but ill just ignore those comments and move to the serious ones cause I know there's others tracking this and worried as well.

For clarity, im not worried about the game..by Saturday this should be long gone..thats not the point

Just from living down here... its going to be a guessing game all the way till the flight. Hurricanes can be coming one day and we all rush to get supplies and the next day its going somewhere else

you should be fine. most models suggest that it will be past us by wednesday evening. assuming no direct hit, which is not out of the question, you should have no issues flying in.

Just buckle down, it's part of the experience. I hope you can get to the game, I know alot of money and time is put into it.

I usually hate this term, but honestly....

Everything will work out.

If there is a direct hit, someone please drag in the stadium roof from Miami Beach ...

Flying in on Friday afternoon. Not concerned, just keeping an eye on the weather forecast. Hopefully it's just some thunderstorms and a little wind.

You'll be fine. Worst case scenario, they land that beast through the eye of the hurricane. As long as you're out of the plane before the eye-wall hits, you're good to go.

I really don't want my flight to get cancelled because I want to fight Nole fans in the parking lot on Saturday.

Don't adjust your ticket until you know more. I was on the West Coast a few years ago and had to fly a red eye back half a day after a Cat 1 passed through Miami. The call wait for American was around 2 hours just to confirm my flight. Noticed a decent amount of people on standby, but I didn't get bumped and everything worked out. MIA is too big of an airport to shutdown for anything minor.

I'm flying in on Thursday night. The Euro Model is our friend at this point. W're not in the clear yet, but we should be ok.

Coming in Friday morning, the only Hurricane I expect is the one that kicks FSU's *** on Saturday!
