Who does early qb decision favor?

I would have to say Rosier, but how many would be shocked if it is Evan "the machine" Sherriffs?

It is arguable that Rosier had the better numbers in both scrimmages
but is Richt solely focusing on that, or also how these guys performed in the Spring?

I believe there was one actual scrimmage where all the qbs were live (when Allison got hurt) and Richt hedged on future live scrimmages afterwards. It's a little different when you know you can't be hit.

If Sherriffs wins it, I will go out on a limb and say this scrimmage was the one that may have sealed it in Richt's mind. Not so much for the
numbers, but for how well one faced actual pressure, overcame fear of getting hit, bounced back after getting knocked on his @ss, and made good decisions with the ball versus the other guy.

Who is the guy that will not buckle, make bone headed plays when a 300 lb tackle is in their face, who will best keep the huddle calm under adversity? These intangibles may be enough to override whatever statistical advantage one had over the other. May the best man win. It just may not be who you think it is, but I will ride with either one because I want the team to win.

They have Rosier listed at 6' 2" but he looks more like 6'. The photo yesterday of him & Sherriff's together really emphasizes the height advantage Sheriff's holds.

I don't think their numbers were much different yesterday.

Rosier had more passes and more yards
Shirreffs had more yards per completion

They each went 68%
They each went 2TDs and 1INT

I won't be surprised or disappointed w either choice

a tad to Rosier because of the running QB factor....not by much tho.

I went back and read the article after that scrimmage and it was a bloodbath. None of the qbs did that well. He did mention how Sherriffs stood tall in the pocket and "ripped" a few passes knowing he was going to get hit. He also mentioned something about Rosier's elusiveness spinning out of a blitzer's grasp. But I got the feeling that it was Sherriffs who proved his mettle that scrimmage. I am not sure of the stats that scrimmage. I think each had a td.

Can someone explain the logic of the #1 O/D being paired with the #2 's? Why would you not want to pit the best against each other? If anything that dulls their performances and strengthens Perrys

I'd want my #2 's to be pitted against their opposing #1 's - to up their game.

It's about making the #2 's better for depth - as they WILL have to play - and we can keep fresh horses at all times.

Besides, the ones and twos are mixed in, getting reps to the point that it's not strictly ones versus strictly twos.
