Coach Hayes asked an interesting question on his show tonight. Who are you top 5 remaining recruits & why. Conditions, the recruit can't be committed or 100% Crystal balled to UM (ala Samson)

His initial list was

  1. Hykeem Williams. Hykeem was number one on his list after working on his WRE.
  2. Damon Wilson. That first step from his WRE.
  3. Malik Bryant. He's broadcast multiple of Malik's games.
  4. Cormani McClain. #1 recruit in the nation.
  5. CJ Baxter. He's broadcast multiple of Baxter's games.

What's interesting is this list is 100% FL recruits and Coach Hayes noted that, its all from Orlando down.

To me, Malik is in the same crystal ball category as Samson. If you're not going to include Samson, IDK how you can include Malik. My list (based on his criteria) currently is:

  1. David Hicks
  2. Cormani McClain
  3. Damon Wilson
  4. Hykeem Williams
  5. Bunch of people tied (Bain/Walker/M'Pemba)
and my top 5 regardless of Crystal ball status

  1. Samson Okunlola
  2. David Hicks
  3. Cormani McClain
  4. Damon Wilson
  5. Hykeem Williams

Yeah no idea how you can not include people who haven't comitted. Samson should be #1 on everyone's board.

1. Samson Okunlola (one of the best OT prospects in the past decade, future LT, one of the most important positions)
2. Cormani McClain (Best athlete, future top 10 pick)
3. David Hicks (best DT/DE combo)
4. Nyckoles Harbor (speed, crazy athletic)
5. Hykeem Williams (speed, height, best WR left)

If we remove okunlola then add in CJ Baxter at #5 because he is a beast of a RB

Aguero
Samson
Harbor
Cormani
M’Pemba

Honorable mention: Hicks Hykeem and Baxter

McClain: we don't sign elite CBs
Harbor: 10.2
Wilson: That mf be moving around edge
Baxter: We will need workhorse in this offense
Williams: Need a WR1 to win big

Hicks - Have stated this, but a monster is needed on the inside and he is the best in the land. He isn’t a 2 gap space eater, but he will literally be unblockable as a 3T on the next level with his strength and twitch.
Okunlola - Franchise LT, nothing else needs to be said.
McClain - Elite CB talent, one of the best I can remember in a long time and tears.
Baxter - Epitomizes what we want to become. He is elite, and with the front we are building he would be a cheat code. Yes, we signed Citizen but you become elite by stacking these types.
Hykeem - On top of needing an elite X, this would be a statement to everyone in America. Elite talent at huge position of need. He is instant difference maker for us.

I mean I’m not sure why we wouldn’t include Samson and Malik. Crystal balls are not foolproof.

1. Samson - day 1 starter
2. Cormani - haven’t had an elite CB in a long time
3. Hykeem - haven’t had an elite WR in a long time
4. Hicks - need more game changers on the DL
5. Olaus - need more elite OL talent desperately

Samson - Book end tackles
Bryant - Gotta get that LB room sorted out
Aguero - Would probably put the fear of God into the SEC
Harbor - No explanation needed
Olaus - Need that OL to be elite

1. Sampson
2. Cormani
3.Hicks
4. Wilson
5. Harbor

And that is in no way a knock on guys like Hykeem, Baxter and company. Part of my judgement is around need and position.

Following the CB rules, in no particular order I'm going:

Cormani McClain
Damon Wilson
C. Baxter
Hykeem Williams
Legacy CB from AH...for the life of me can't remember this kids name. His brother is at UCF though.

Glad someone had more than 1 offensive player on their list. An elite offensive player could bust open the potential of any offense. Now only will a top level offensive skill player do that for you but they will more often than not be able to contribute right away. We need play makers there.

To me it’s David Hicks.
It’s the position that is key to the rest of the defense and it’s a position we haven’t recruited at an elite level in a long time.
Dabo for example has 2 top 10 DT’s commited for this cycle.

1) Samson
2) Hicks
3) Cormani
4) Baxter
5) Inniss(late season flip) yeah I know we aren’t getting him but…
