But it does seem like the ACC yet again runs through Miami
9:25
But it is Miami. Miami is at plus 300 odds on FanDuel to win a national championship this year and they should be way higher than that. They should have much they should be considered to be a favorite to win the national championship this year. Blake Darien Mensah coming in is the missing piece that takes this team over the top.
9:49
they're not going to have any issues filling right on in with guys coming in. I mean, Cantwell is a perfect example of being able to have the same impact as what Mauigoa did when he was a freshman. Like, they're going to win through the trenches. Fletcher is going to be a big asset. Malachi Tony is going to be one of the best receivers in college football next year. But it all comes down to the fact that you've got a dynamic top prospect
10:21
quarterback in Mensah who could do exactly what Cam Ward did. Prove that he is worthy of a top 10 pick. Get drafted early. Make a lot of big plays. Attack downfield. Take shots. This offense is going to be able to be a lot more aggressive. The biggest biggest key here, Blake, is that Carson Beck was good for what you needed this past year, but now we're getting back to the levels of explosiveness that this team had two years ago.
11:09
Here's a hot take for you. I like Cam Ward. I like him (Mensah) a lot from being inside the pocket and making NFL level throws.
11:23
I'm not saying Cam Ward clearly can't do it. He was a former number one overall pick. Mensah is better. Mensah is flat out better. Now, Cam Ward's escapability, his just overall playmaking is on a different level than Darien Mensah. So, you have to equate into that. I'm talking about one specific topic. Joe, this kid threw him for over 50 touchdowns the last two seasons.
12:41
Miami. It's going to be interesting to see how their run game goes. But here's the thing with Mensah. Even with all of the replacements that Miami is going to have along the offensive line, I don't worry about Mario Crystal on the offensive line at all. Ever. He's going to have a better run, a better run game that he's had than at two lane and Duke. He's going to have a better passing game because of the having Toney having Barkate with him. And I think overall he's just got better dudes and athletes around him. Oh, by the way, he's gonna have a defense, at least a defensive line, whether it be coming out of high school or the portal. You have four, five star dudes that are starting starting that front seven's going to be disgusting yet again. Heatherman's got another massive amount of tools that he gets to go to his tool belt with. This team's going to be dangerous.
14:31
I think we just saw if they're there at the end they can make a push because they're one of the most talented teams in the country and they do it up front and Joe I think the narrative around Miami is a little wrong at the current moment. Let me explain. post national championship. Everybody's talking about Indiana, Indiana, Indiana, Cignetti from Mendoza, Black Hi, which is rightfully so. Joe, Miami was a drive away from
winning a national title. Like, did we forget that they were going down the field on the last drive to win a national title and then they're reloading and then they're in the conference with all due respect to the ACC that flat flat honestly sucks. I mean there's no team from a talent level perspective that matches up to them.
15:27
There isn't one. So I got Toney, I got Barkate, I got Fletcher and Mensah on the offense. I have a defensive line that's full of five stars. Literally. That's not like some pun. Literally. I have the number one offensive lineman in the country. Can he start as a true freshman in Canywell? You I know Josh Pate says this, so I'm going to utilize it. Mario thinks that he had two tackles that could have started for them this year if they didn't have Mauigoa. They didn't have the big g big kid number 70 at left tackle who I thought had a pretty decent senior ball. if they didn't have Brockermeyer Joe, they think they're reloading.
16:04
Yeah. Excuse me. So, for that being said, I don't care if they win the conference. Are they there at the end? Because if they are, they're one of the most dangerous teams in college football bar none.
16:18
Right? This is not even a conversation of like who wins the conference, who challenges my forget that they are one of the best rosters in
college football. And I I find it quite shocking that they have not been more legitimately recognized. I just talked about here they're at plus 1300 odds on FanDuel even after the Darien Mensah news. There hasn't been any movement. If I am someone who likes doing future bets and you want to put a couple out there, go put out the picks that you like, but I'm putting money down on Miami at plus 1300. I abs I I absolutely am going todo that because there's a chance that the public ends up betting that number in a different direction. It comes downto the fact that they're one of the best recruited rosters at key important positions. Their defensive line is loaded with former five stars. I really think that the Damon Wilson pickup that they had is going to be one of the most underrated. Damon Wilson's a really freaking good player. I was shocked that he entered the transfer portal and that he decided that he was going to leave Missouri because it felt like he was making a name for himself. I almost thought that also that he was going to declare for the draft.
18:21
I Joe, I have a hot take. I I'm You know what? It's the offseason. Who cares? I think Daren Mensah is better than the last two quarterbacks they've had.
I can't go further than Cam Ward because I think the Cam I thought Cam Ward was special. I really thought the Cam
Cam Ward is special. Darien Mensah is is insane. I I look I was played at Tulane because he played at Duke. You're right. The stuff that that that Cam can do outside the pocket is utterly ridiculous. However, what Mensah does inside the pocket might outweigh it. I mean, people don't people don't understand what this dude is doing.
19:31
I think he is on the same level as Cam Ward.
20:25
I'm taking him over Mendoza.
