Im not sure which is the more parroted statement of the last ten years:

-Rumph is a great developer

-Swasey is a top S&C coach

both completely unfounded statements, mostly perpetuated by the “gotta be a miami bro, homie” morons.

Where is this stable of incredible players he has developed?

Corn Elder is an NFL bust, and was a 4 star Mr. Tennessee coming out of HS. In fact, Rumph not only didnt develop him, but he was disappointingly unprepared to play in the league despite being a coveted national recruit.

MJack is a practice squad player in the NFL.

Bandy was a coveted HS prospect who after his bad junior campaign will go undrafted.

Rumph is not a developer of anything besides his bank account, stealing money from this U.

Couldn’t care less how they do in the NFL. His job is to develop them and have them ready to play on Saturdays while they are at UM.

Corn Elder was a HS RB and primarily an offensive player that Rumph turned into an NFL draft pick. Him not being able to survive in the NFL has nothing to do with Rumph. Michael Jackson made one of the biggest jumps development and play wise that any player has made here in quite some time between 2016 and 2017. Again, what he hasn’t been able to do in the NFL has nothing to do with Rumph. It’s the NFL, most Mf’s can’t cut it there. Bandy definitely tapped out, he had no business being a #1 CB but was forced due to the poor handling of the position, which was 1000% Rumphs fault. He still more than held his own and wasn’t a liability out there as a #1. He had more good days than bad this year that’s for sure. Malek Young was on his way to being one of the best in the conference if not for his unfortunate injury and he was another HS athlete that had to learn the position. Adrian Colbert was a grad transfer that had previously played Safety and he was “good” his lone year here at CB. But hey, don’t let any of this get in the way of your narrative.

And I’m completely indifferent on Rumph leaving/staying. I would much rather Banda go, but I’m not crying if Rumph leaves either to be replaced with someone who is competent on the trail. I’ll just say I definitely wasn’t disappointed at the earlier news that he was out. The recruiting is that bad and our CB situation for 2020 is unsatisfactory at the University of Miami for coach going into his 5th season here.

Just know, and it’s pretty much a stone cold lock that if Rumph leaves for another CFB job, he will all of a sudden learn how to recruit and pluck kids from SoFla like never before. That’s just how this works lol.

This is a dumb porst. Everybody isnt going to make in the nfl. Hargreaves was considered a elite cb in college but is trash in the league.

Of course rumph could be upgraded but he isnt bad. 3 straight years he had a all acc corner in elder,Jackson, and bandy. Did a good job with colbert who hadnt played corner and the work he was doing with young who played mostly offense in hs was good.

He had elder for like one year. He hasn’t had a bunch of elite recruits go through him and then have three or four make it to the NFL so he can brag about it the way Cory Raymond has and the guys at Ohio State have had . Again people always point at the successes of these elite developers of talent while at the same time failing to point out the huge number of elite recruits that never even make the league. Go look at all the elite defense of backs that have passed through Saban the defensive back guru since he got to Bama. Sabin developed Fitzpatrick snd Surtain Junior so much that they were ready to start his freshman. But he hasn’t been able to develop Jobe and his old *** for the past three years. You give any coach multiple years of elite recruits **** yeah you’re going to have people make it to the NFL and be good.
Can’t praise a coach for making a five star a day one pic while at the same time ignoring the amount of other five and four stars and never made the league. I’m not saying that Rumph is Corey Raymond or that he will be able to develop every single three star that comes to Miami into a day one pic. But let’s not act like he’s useless either.

If Rumph coup recruit and build depth as good as he could develop we would have one of the most elite defensive backfields in the country.

Hey **** !! You have respected posters in the troll thread calling you 1000 percent gator. I believe them.

lmfao again you people keep saying he develops but who the **** has he developed???

Bandy is terrible, got worse since his freshman.

I mean by these standards we could say Jon Richt developed Rosier. its laughable.

if he was a white dude from michigan he’d be the most hated coach of all time here.

Can't fix stupid, never

Can barely get a decent croot to sign in a state loaded with DB talent every year. Can’t develop talent that isn’t there

His job is to develop players to win college football games. If that translates into success in the NFL, that's a bonus. Of course that's used as a recruiting tool, but lets not lose focus of the primary goal.
