1: prior HC experience or pedigree working a real winning coach.
2: track record of winning. HAS to have some record of beating teams ranked BETTER than his team as well as winning in his own conference. however bad that may be.
3: SOME form of connection to South Florida.
4: Youth. We need someone who will use Miami as a launching pad for his career; not someone who views Miami as a destination job.
5: basically an ******* who isn't afraid to cut his staff or **** off higher ups.
6: an innovating concept in either D or O.

That's all BS.

You look at the guy's first name, and if it's Butch Davis, you got your coach.

Youth is overrated. Golden is young.

I want someone that will walk up to Blake James or whatever pawn we've replaced him with during his interview and say "I am not going to be here for 5 years. I will be in the NFL. Which means I will have turned this ****** around." Big freakin ego.

Also need someone who is ACTUALLY a great football mind, not someone who just acts like it. I don't care if they are a flashy young guy, I don't care if they are polished at all really.

Find our Gary Patterson, or Art Briles, or Mike Dantonio, or Butch Davis...because those are they types of hires that can do more or less and thus, ironically, end up with more. South Florida kids respond to winning. Period.

Someone who will recruit South Florida like it's the end of the world, develop those kids with quality assistants and then turn them lose.

You basically just described Charlie Strong.

Yeah, he's really lighting it up at Texas, isn't he?

Bringing in a top 10 recruiting class tomorrow, or are you a ****** judging a coach after one season with the abortion that Mack Brown left him?
