“Our goal is to win the coastal”....for over a decade now, we have defined this as the end game.

I can understand first year taking over a team, making the goal to have a positive record or low bar.

But it seems UM from Randy to Golden through Richt has this pathetic mission statement about the coastal division.

Have you ever heard of a major sports organization having a multi-decade mission that isnt winning a championship????

What kind of pathetic beta ***gotry has taken over this school? I used to think it was that carpet eating troll, but clearly it goes beyond her.

Does anyone at that school want to be the old Miami???

This argument has been presented about 10,000 times by various people pretty much since UM joined the ACC. Of course everyone would like to win national championships. However, it's not happening if you don't first win the Coastal. Considering Miami has done that once in 14 years, I don't think that should be considered a foregone conclusion. I don't think I've ever heard anybody, coach or fan say "I just want to win the Coastal and never advance beyond that". If they were consistently winning their division, I'd say they need to focus on a bigger goal but right now, that would be laughable.

It's called mission creep.

This ******* will change his goal to align with how ****** his offense is.

We've all seen this before. We all know where this is headed. We have 3-5 more years of Richt.

Yeah, but you can lose 3-4 games and still win the **** Coastal. How about this. Aim for a national championship, and the Coastal title will naturally happen.

I get your point but literally every single team could say that. Duke should set the goal of winning the national title every year then. They've won the Coastal as many times as Miami has.

So aiming for the Coastal hasn't worked. I guess I got sick of hearing "We can still win the Coastal" year after year.

Bama reaches a new level by winning it all after not even winning their division lol. You are correct though

I mean technically it all starts by winning the coastal...

Richt will probably hang on here like Bowden did at FSU. He will be on the sidelines sitting in a wheelchair with headphones on.
