what sickened me most about The U part 2

watching how Butch coached. then having to see Al walking around the field doing nothing or playing dodgeball. Also the players saying how much they respected Butch. meanwhile our coach on raising canes is begging guys like a *****. smh

the gap and level between Butch Davis and Al Golden is significant. One more year fellas.....
 
i love how al is starting to refer to south carolina as a top 10 team the last 2 years. well, they were 6-6 this year. such an excuse machine
 
Just got done watching it now. Wow!

I started watching UM back in 09' (the last time we beat FSU :stephenahand:) and knew a little about the past teams but those guys were on a whole different level. I'm not sure if CFB will ever see any team(s) like the one(s) we had in 2000-2002. We were so good we didn't need a head coach; players coached the team, and they did all of this without causing any trouble. A lot of respect was gained for Butch and I've never even seen the guy coach.

All this did was make me more proud to be a Hurricanes fan :raylewis: I just hope that we can get over this hump soon.
 
Remember last year when you were firmly on Golden's **** when everyone else with a brain realized he wasn't the answer? And how you said Butch wasn't coming back and it wasn't worth talking about? And how you said I was ruining the board by stating facts about Al? And now all of a sudden you hate Al and want Butch back so badly.

i have said before i was trying to give al a chance. i felt if duke and dorsett didnt get hurt. we probably had 10 wins. this year he proved he sucks

trying to give him a chance lol. some people are dumb. not sure what more the slurpers needed to see after the VT and Duke debacles. icing on the cake was the bowl game.
 
Whenever you get a new coach, you want to get behind him, especially when the guy is trying to lead us out of a NCAA mess that the school made for itself. But slowly but surely, if he's not the real thing, the truth comes out. I wanted the guy to be a winner here, but he pushed me to the edge when I saw how unprepared the team was for the bowl game, and then I jumped off by myself because of the Penn State debacle. He had to do really, really well this season to win Canes fans back. He did not, despite several standout players on the team. So the Canes fans have have given up on him. Any one who is still rooting for Golden is either a family friend and simply hasn't been paying attention.

I wonder if Butch Davis would work for minimum age for the first couple of years if he could coach the Canes again?

Virginia Tech I had a good idea. After Duke, I knew.
 
He lost me once the defense made Logan Thomas look like a Heisman candidate last year. The bowl game sealed it for me.
 
I lost him at that rainy Maryland game. We made their QB look like Unitas, 100% out coached.

Admittedly, there were a couple of times I thought there was a glimmer of hope. Now it's hopelessness.
 
I was extremely distraught on Maryland's first drive. I had nagging doubts for a long time after that. The Vag tek game did seal the deal.
 
Everyone now thinks Butch is God backthen I went to an East Carolina game at the OB and we had an attendance of 17000. Same **** going on now , majority here front runners, I say F uck off to all of U.
 
The thing that bothers me is that the fantastic recruiting tool all the replays of both films is presenting is totally lost with Al and Co. If Butch was announced as new coach today after this weekend, the recruits would line up to be part of THE U part 3. It also saddens me the the school had wasted the greatest marketing opportunities in history twice. Had they set sight on being the ND of the South instead of Harvard or Stanford they could have had it all. Huge growth in admissions, donors and maybe own TV network too-- well maybe not thank. I hate ND as any Cane does, but doesn't change the fact that they have one excellent school and the greatest of all football history. That is what we could and should or had. Had Foote, Sam and then Donna but embraced our kids and defended them instead of throwing them under the bus, what a program we would have. If anyone was objective, Foote should have been fired for the Pell Grant scandal and Donna for nevin. They brought real shame on THE U as opposed to bs shame of dancing and penalties.

Question: What recruits would Butch be able to get from this year's class that we aren't getting now?

It wasn't that he was a star *****, but a great talent/character evaluator. I trust his talent evaluation 100 times more than Golden and Co. but I don't think we would be celebrating recruiting championships like people think we would.
