What is Lashlee's buyout at SMU?

Sooooo, you were ok with not being able to get a yard when we needed it? I wasn't. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE what TVD brings to the table but ,IMO Lash's success is more of a testament to TVD playing out of his tree!! Prior to TVD starting this year, Lash' s play calling was atrocious and he was being compared to Enos, which I didn't think was fair but thems are the facts.
He produced offense last year and this year, we generated more points. He scored with King and TVD. King when healthy was a really good qb at time and leader for us. Dont forget his 1st year there was no offseason install AND we had all conference games, if he had those 70 points Famu games that offense would have avg more points also..

King was a good 1 year stop gap for what we needed, a mature leader type who could allow us to groom the young qbs. Things went left when we decided to play meaningless bowl game, he gets injured and we rush an ACL 1 year recovery to have him get smacked by bama in 9 months..

Only thing I think is he should of gone full on air raid because not being able to run was not gonna change by trying to force the run. Especially with Rooster who was perfect back to just include in pass game.. Just do like west coast offense and use screens and such as extension of run game.. **** it.. The stats bear out Lashlee bought us out of darkage bro style offense purgatory and by year 2 we went from 100s offensive rank to dam near top 25 offense, missing starting QB, Top 2 RB, 2 olineman, etc. Now I know some will say addition by subtraction but those are allllllll facts

As much as many of us beat him down, Lashlee clearly knew what to do. A healthy King and TVD were used really well and created an electric offense that was fun to watch. Yes, the inside run plays were confusing but overall, I loved who we were with him calling plays. My best to him. Thanks for coming to Miami, if only for a bit.

The inside zone short yardage stuff was annoying but he’s been light years ahead of what we’ve had and it’s possible he’s missed. I think he’s a sharp guy and might do well.

Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good. .. Lashlee got lucky with TVD.

...for that matter so did Manny. He would have been long gone if it wasn't for TVD playing like a once in a generation QB at Miami

The problem was we should have thrown the **** ball more on 3rd, 4th and short. You do that enough times and teams don't sell out to stop the run. To me it was all about predictability. When the other team knows what you are going to do, they can stop it far more easily. When you have a QB like TVD, you take some shots through the air when they are selling out to stop that 3rd and 1. I don't understand why we didn't do this, because I don't care if you're Alabama, if a team knows exactly what you are going to run, they have a **** good chance of stopping it.

Lashlee did well enough keeping teams off balance, until it was a short yardage situation. For the life of me I don't understand why he got so predictable.

Laslee's O looked similar at SMU when he had a passing QB. It's not all on TVD. Now, TVD might be the best QB in the country, and that doesn't hurt, but Lashlee has done well everywhere he's been.
