What if.......

At this point, Gus is not bringing anything to Lashlee that he hasn't heard or seen. That was the issue with his offense at Auburn. It got stale because he calls plays in sequence which is rooted in his wing-t background. People figured it out. Combine that with his inability to expand the passing game and poof....fired.

Was Gus calling plays at Auburn this past season?

lol the responses above could not have been what you were expecting to receive.

It would be great. Lashlee needs the help, He's good but still figuring things out.

Coral Gables is a nice place to semi-retire and still give back to the coaching profession. Gus would be a great addition if he still wanted to be around the game.

Stack chips like Bama.

I’m sure Lashlee will have Gus as an unofficial analyst in his game prep for Bama.

I imagine Gus would enjoy seeing his protege put numbers on the Bama D.

Lashlee was able to convince his mentor Gus to come on board as an Offensive Analyst while he is collecting that Auburn money?

Nice idea, but sometimes a liking the good dollop of mustard on your dog doesn’t deserve more mustard, but ketchup perhaps, to expand the tingling horizons of your tongue. Ask my girl...

I’m not for it at all. Lashlee’s offense gets too stale when he falls back into “Malzahn mode”. The whole reason he went out on his own was to expand his offense. Gus’ offense was the main book but he’s expanded into multiple offshoots including lots of air raid concepts that Gus never used.

So let me see if I understand this brilliant idea...

Lashlee, who left Auburn and his mentor BECAUSE Gus was controlling and paranoid, is going to bring in his controlling paranoid mentor to work in a subservient role?

And our AD and Head Coach will sign off on this, the duo who were afraid to hire Alpha Alonzo Highsmith?

Yeah...not gonna happen...

You're wrong. That is not why we fired Gus. The issues with Gus over time became much deeper and the media or fans weren't privy to that information. You have no idea what you're talking about. Some things are bigger that football.
