what happened with Michael Irvin II

I was wondering the same thing. I was shocked that Patchan was in the game at TE. Nothing against Patchan, but he's only been a TE for about 5 minutes.
 
I was thinking he must really be bad to lose his spot to a third string DE. Can't believe he wasn't there. Guess he's satisfied living off Daddy's money, though I hope he gets it together because he can add something to this offense.
 
Yea he never had to expierience the grind and seems to be a little complacent when it comes to playing football.

Very poor decision by the staff not to take a JUCO TE in last year's class. It'll also be a mistake if they don't take one in this year's class.
 
He'd have been kicked off the team already if his name wasn't Irving. If he got in trouble again this is likely the end for him at UM.
 
He had had issues last year. It shouldn't have been a surprise to anyone on staff that Haskins may not cut it here.

And there are plenty of fine TEs even after signing day (like Shockey some years ago). But we shouldn't have even needed to wait until after signing day. This is a clear gap that the staff hasn't filled, but will hopefully fill it before next season starts....

I'm happy letting Jordan and Mallory play right away. I think with those two, we'll be good.
