What about player accountability?

Disclaimer: I DO think coaching is important, I DO feel we have underachieved due to inept offensive preparation, game planning, and in game decisions, and I AM bitterly disappointed in this year regarding the coaching on the offensive side.

However, that aside, its still about players making or not making plays. Its still a players game, with coaching making up a small percentage of it. and what disturbs me is that while we believe we have more talent than 7-5 would reveal( and I agree) , man, something seems to be lacking in that teams makeup.

A team with a dominant defense and a poorly coached offense( and ST's) STILL , IMO, should have the internal pride, leadership and character to defeat Duke , UVA, BC and G Tech. Yes, even with the same 4-5 plays called, and the QB change fiasco that Richt created, and a crappy punter, and no creativity on offense.

IF we have the talent we think we have, even a poorly coached o line should still revert to some fundamentals and DOMINATE THE MAN on your nose. And a WR catches a ball. And a back doesn't miss a blitz pickup, and yes ,even our vaunted D can rise up and shut out an opponent so we win 9-0. ( I am not hating on our D)

Bottom line- Even with our offensive ineptitude I still think that this team lacks that little extra that can carry a team over weak *** opponents despite the coaches. Think Ed Reeds famous " I'm hurt, dog" speech.

All you need to see is James Murphy beating everyone to the returner on kickoff. There's an overall lack of urgency and it stems from the me-first NFL U culture.

The defensive players seemed to do just fine. It seems like the offensive players know the offense sucks and they are revolting.

During our last MNC we had Fester and Shannon.

Leaders on the field help. Jaquan held it down on D. There was no one leading the O on the field.

I have watched the offensive players and several of them, especially the line, are truly revolting.

Insisting anything on this team is 100% on a coach or player is ridiculous.

Bad play calls and coaching were a part of it.
Inexperience was a part of it.
Mental mistakes were a part of it.
Lack of talent at certain positions was a part of it.

Are the revolting our are they just not that good? Cager, Harley and Wiggins can whine all they want about scheme but when the ball is thrown their way, they cant even catch the thing. MOAR passing though!! More Whamburgers and French Cries for the O.

These are Richt's guys. We're heading into Year 4 of Richt's tenure. If the players still aren't living up to their star ratings, then overwhelmingly justified blame points right back at the coaches who evaluated them in the first place and have been unable to develop them to help them reach their fullest potential.

Not to mention the losses for the local elite on the recruiting trail that have contributed to this mess, i.e. not landing Jerry Jeudy and ending up with Mike Harley instead. That's on this staff, too.

The entire offense is a mess. Top to bottom, coaches to players. They all contributed to it.

Looking back, just from a locker room perspective, I have to wonder how awkward things may have been with Rosier/Perry thing especially with Perry's super fast benching in one game.

Rosier is a 5th year Sr. (our original starting QB)
Our OL consisted of:
LT: St Louis (Senior)
LG: Mahoney (RS Junior)
C: Gauthier (Senior)
RG: Donaldson (Sophomore)
RT: Scaife (**True Freshman)

RB:
Homer (Junior)
Dallas (Sophomore)

WR:
Cager (RS Junior)
Langham (RS Senior)
Harley (Sophomore)
Thomas (Sophmore)

TE:
Jordan (**True Freshman)

Besides Scaife and BJ, the guys who played most frequently have been in this offensive system for no less than 2 yrs. Majority have been in the system for 3 yrs and BJ was by far one of our best offensive weapons. So I'm definitely not seeing the inexperience argument.

We had more talent than every team we played this year sans maybe LSU.

Mental mistakes were shown from the coaching side as well (i.e running a slow 4 minute drill when down 2 scores), so of course the team would have these same mental lapses.

To be a championship team we need a leader at every position and a main guy on both sides of the ball.

These are who we want to step up and become leaders next year:

Defense - Shaq Quarterman
Offense - Jarren Williams

QB - Jarren Williams
RB - Travis Homer or Deejay Dallas
O Line - Corey Gaynor(You want a center to be the leader of the O line)
TE - Brevin Jordan
WR - Brian Hightower

D Line - Nesta Silvera or Garvin
LB - Shaq Quarterman
Corner - Bandy
S - Finley or Carter

If this happens and these guys step up(especially at QB) we could be in for a **** of a season
