Check out my latest podcast featuring Eddie Delgado of Doral Academy. We talking about winning culture and building a program.

Awesome coach, better man. Honor to have played for him. Some great stories and memories from his no nonsense approach to defense, football, and just about everything. His brother is also a great dude.

***Disclaimer long post. Awesome interview, brings back great memories. Eddie is a great coach and even better person it was honor to have played for him. @WestEndZone asked so many questions I always wanted to ask as a player. *Coach Eddie was the first person to give me a PH(penance hall/detention) back in 7th grade (I deserved it ). I really liked him going back through the history of what Belen was and how they went through that winning stretch '95-'19. I still remember those long *** bus rides from FAU camp where he would tell the Northwestern story and similar stories.

He always preached accountability, reliability, and how it translates outside of football. He especially preached the weight room culture as something that set us apart from most schools. I can still hear him saying "Accountability is the best ability". If you weren't in the weight room the coaches didn't trust you. Coach Eddie was always about business, no bs.

I have a lot to thank Coach Eddie for because until my senior year I had never had that proof of concept of being reliable, accountable, and consistent (I didn't really take school seriously until the end of high school). Being in the weight room, and not missing a single offseason workout going into my senior year gave me that proof of concept when I finally earned my spot. Doing things the right way. Going to all those 6am workouts with Coach Eddie, that's where he taught me to fall in love with the grind, trust the process.

I had never worked harder for anything in my life like I did for football and playing for Belen was all I ever wanted. Coach Eddie (and football) showed me that if I bust my ***, stay consistent, and respect the grind then I can do whatever I set my mind too. Coach Eddie is a big reason why I was able to push myself through and graduate law school(accountability translating outside football). Thank you Coach Eddie.

Eddie is the 🐐.

He deserves infinitely more credit than he gets.

Chaney was never a bell cow for them
Imagine trashing the WingT and claiming a WingT halfback gets run to the ground. It's just proof they don't understand the WingT. Don is a great kid and he has a great family, but he was never not injury prone.

Imagine this site if Mario ran the WingT.
