Weather and retractable roof…

Roof
The roof will be closed for the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl. Please keep in mind that while State Farm Stadium has a roof, it does not have heat. Therefore, temperatures inside the stadium may be cooler than expected. There is a no re-entry policy in effect, so plan ahead before entering the stadium.
 
Weather is not going to be a factor.

However, the field conditions could be in our favor. That portable grass is pretty bad with huge divots and holes and chunks of soil flying everywhere. Even when they hosted the Super Bowl a few years back it looked awful.

This is not going to be speedy fast artificial turf the Super Dome uses.

My kid played in a volleyball tournament in the stadium a few years ago (think 30 courts on top of the concrete- the grass was outside but I had to see it!). It isn't that cold even at night or early in the morning. We were at field level and a light sweatshirt and shorts were enough to feel comfortable.
As for the field- The Cardinals last played at home two and a half weeks ago, so they may have resodded for this game.
