We need to get some of whatever North Dakota State has.

I 100% believe they either would’ve beaten us this season or it would’ve gone down to the wire. Lance is better than any QB on our roster and their entire team is extremely disciplined

They have young men who just want to play football...even if it's in the baren methscape known as North Dakota (I've been there, it's terrible)

We have kids who want to be in Miami.

Our greatest weakness is our proximity to so many distractions. It's those distractions that draw the types of immature, self absorbed, weak willed kids that this program has been infested with for over a decade.

Just watched North Dakota State win another FCS championship. Brings to mind how far we've fallen.

8 out of the last 9 FCS National Championships under 3 different coaches

Seems they don't accept mediocrity throughout their exceptional program and other Big 5 programs and the NFL is recognizing that fact

Maybe their HC

Sure, if you want to call handing the ball off like 90% of the time "better", then have at it.
FCS player of the year. 2800 yards passing 1100 rushing, 42 total TDs and no interceptions. Did you not watch how bad Perry and Williams were this year?

Was just gonna type this...they could compete in most conferences in the P5 and be competitive..

Both them and JMU would do just fine....the reasons(s) they haven't made the jump to 1-A has nothing to do with being good enough at the next level...I think there are probably hurdles at both schools that they need to change to get the OK from the NCAA, which would then cost them money on the front end they may not have.

There a shark in a small pond. They should have jumped to FBS years ago. They're scared to play against the big boys.

You knew it was only a matter of time before some idiot know nothing fan showed up with this dumb sht to help himself sleep better at night because the Canes are circling the bowl with Manny.

A lot of D-1 schools, especially the bigger programs, want nothing to do with playing NDS or JMU.

you may be right in that I think you have to compete at a certain level in a certain amount if not all sports and maybe they don't have the money to do this.

I was listening to the DP show this morning when they were comparing them to Rutgers and Vegas said they'd be considered on the same level as a Boise State or Mich. St. which surprised em.

Vegas said they'd be a 21 point favorite against Rutgers.

I think there is a stadium capacity number mixed in too....but I'm not sure....If I am not mistaken, FAU and FIU received some type of waiver from the NCAA when they jumped to 1-A.

I used to live in North Dakota, God help me, and I know a lot of NDSU guys still. The problem and the reason they haven't moved up yet is travel. It would cost so much money to get, say, the women's basketball team to Boise or Wyoming even (let alone Nevada) for conference games that it's just not cost effective for the school. And nobody wants to travel to Fargo for an away game =P
FBS finance is crazy, majority of programs lose money by the millions. Read an article a few years ago that a few struggling FBS teams (The article mentioned Kansas Football for example) should consider moving down to FCS
