We must go whole hog after Dino Babers

Meh, Babers knows the ACC Leach stuck in the weak pac12 would be a learning curve.

Leach taught Babers everything he knows. He has Washington State at 8-1 right now.

We're always saying we want an innovator. Well, Mike Leach INVENTED that offense. All these other guys are just running his system.

Why get a knockoff when we can have the real deal?

There's a reason why no one running the Leach offense can win a championship.

Yeah, they don't have talent. Miami would be the most talented team by far to run such a system.

Look man, if we could recruit SEC offensive linemen, and if Florida produced pro-style QB's, then I'd be all about a Butch Davis/Larry Coker offense.

But our recruiting base basically screams out for us to run an uptempo spread. Why make things harder on ourselves than they need to be? Our defense went from complete garbage to #2 in the nation just by running a system that fits the players we have. Should be a no-brainer to do the same on offense.

Funny how no one with talent has ever tried to run the Leach offense. Want to know why? Because the Leach offense doesn't win championships. As soon as you run into someone who stops your passing attack, you lose by 30. See Leach vs. Cal last year.

Because we can't get the real deal haha he wouldn't come here

I'm sure he would come here. Say what you will about Mike Leach, but he's not some dopey fool who wants to spend his whole career at Washington State. The man is a pure savage.

We'll never hire him, because our BOT and admin want a neutered puppet for a head coach - see Randy Shannon, Al Golden, and Mark Richt. Mike Leach would turn this team in to a bunch of killers. Our admin doesn't want that.

Our admin wants "integrity." Mike Leach would have us dancing in the endzone and playing like the old Miami. Our BOT and Mike Leach is a match made in ****.

So I agree - Leach to Miami will never happen. But it's not because Leach wouldn't come here. It's because our dumpy BOT would never consider hiring someone like that. Their biggest nightmare is that the Miami of the 80's and 90's comes back, with all the swag and antics. They would rather lose than see that happen.

The problem starts at the top.

But a combo of Leach and Diaz would absolutely wreck college football. We'd be blowing teams out by 70.

Common sense eludes you, wait another year before you claim him as the Savior of Syracuse...

Signed,

Peruche

He turned down the UCF job to go to Syracuse, I think he shown more so far at Syracuse than he would have if he went to UCF and was sitting on a ridiculous Win/Loss record while playing weak opponents 90% of the time.

There is still some uncertainty but he has shown a lot so far.

Lincoln Riley and Oklahoma would like to have a word with you. You know the team that produced last year's Heisman trophy winner and made the playoffs.

Leach or Babers would be a huge get. Agreed that Leach would likely never get hired. But who knows. Perhaps our BOT decides that trying to win again at football requires some risk. At this point, I’m convinced the administration has no interest in trying to seriously revive the program.

We aren't getting a new hc any time soon, just hope for a great OC & OL coach

Are you fricken kidding me? Look at Syracuse over the last 18 years and then come see me. He’s built Syracuse from the scrap heap, using duct tape and glue, with zero talent to work with, and he now has them sitting at #22 in THREE YEARS.

Babers is the real **** deal

He has a veteran team this season and Eric Dungey is a senior. Let's see what that team looks like next year.

Incredible how people will defend and excuse things that happen at other programs, yet put Miami coaches under such different scrutiny when case-building.
