First, we don't hire a coaching staff that is capable of running a P5 program
Next, we don't recruit smarts. Like Casey Stengle once said of the Mets "doesn't anyone here know how to pla this game?"
There's a lot more to any game than just athleticism. Great players know how to play the game because they were trained that way. Elite players (and we have had quite a few in our days) have the instinct for the game.

Our players keep making the same mistakes over and over again. I could be poor coaching, lack of knowledge of the game, poor instincts or all of that together. Football is NOT a dumb man's game. To be really good at it requires an understanding of all the aspects of it.

We need to jump off the 305 bandwagon and start looking for players who understand the game and who can be coached up to get the best from them......that, in itself, requires the right coaches (an area in which we are severely lacking).
