We know this isn’t the same program...so how do you fix it?

This is far from the program many of you know. I’m young (26) and became a fan when I was like 7 in 1999.

For the better part of my time as a fan of this program we have sucked. Some of us still hold on to the old memories of what Hurricane football used to be. Those days came and have passed.

People don’t respect us anymore.

No one “fears” playing the U. The psychological warfare that’s won before a play is snapped.

After 03 we’ve been downhill for all times of reasons. But how do we really get “back”?

First is to acknowledge that we are not the program of old. We are currently a middle of the road ACC an national program and have been for a while.

We aren’t competing with real top 10 programs. We might beat some ranked teams like OSU and Florida under Golden, Notre Dame and VT. But really guys lol. None of those teams finished top 10 or were real championship contenders when we beat them.

This is a middle of the road program with a large fan base. That’s a fact. We honestly aren’t any different than the teams we’ve struggled with since joining the ACC. Yes we recruit more “talent” but the on the field results speaks for itself.

We are no better than the UNC, UVA, DUKE, and GT, and VT of the ACC. But we walk around pounding our chests out year after year as if we are some world beaters lol. You don’t see those fan bases above with NC aspirations because they know that they aren’t there.

We aren’t there either. So how do you change a middling program into a powerhouse? It’s been don’t in CFB before. Some powerhouses have been powerhouses so long that it really doesn’t matter who coaches there.....see OSU and Oklahoma for stability.

Saban brought Bama back.
Dabo brought life to Clemson winning 10 games in 2011, for the first time in 20 years.

We aren’t and haven’t been signing the top dawg recruiting classes that we need to get back up. We get a few top heavy classes but not really the depth that’s needed to become a elite team.

I think you take it slow. You could say we’ve been taking it “slow” since 03. But in our minds we still are championship contenders and playoff caliber.

Take it slow and land the kids who want to be here. Like not missing on Parrish for a “maybe kid”

The hottest chick in the town might “maybe” your *** to the next opportunity while you got broads sitting in your lap that want to be with you.

Get the cats who want to be here. Lock up those plan B kids and if the plan As want to come in later then cool.

No need it watching guys go ball for other squads though.

Obviously coaching. Yes we’re 0-2 I’m not going to be premature and say fire manny just yet. (That may change depending on how the season ends)

But we MUST stop hiring super green coaches or guys who have not succeeded elsewhere. You guys may not have liked Richt. But hey got us 9 wins and then a 10 win season. 2018 was an anomaly with Rosier and no better options. (Due to recruiting) But look at Jarren now.

I think Jarren would have still been Jarren even if Richt was here. He’s always been a accurate guy from what we’ve heard since he arrived here.

Shoutout to Coach Richt is all I’m saying. He was a established coach and Miami saw immediate results even a top 10 2018 class.

Get rid off green guys or have a healthy mix. I wasn’t a big fan of many of the coaches besides enos and manny mainly because of their “experience” but Enos still only had one good year at Arkansas. (I don’t care for you guys advanced metrics. You can use more than one metric. Ask yourself if that amazing #2 offense that went 8-5 is a good deal) but he had experience so I didn’t mind him.

It’s also very different if you are hiring guys that were lighting it up as co-ordinators. Like Ryan Day or Lincoln Riley.

But we don’t have guys that we’re doing that.

Land these people and some halfway decent classes and I think you’ll see big results. Most important is the QB evaluation and development.

Miami finally has a QB. I’d argue Jarren might wind up one the best to lace them up here already. By the time his Miami career is over we should be landing Big time QBs like dabo did with Clemson. We haven’t had A Heisman runner up in a long time.

Where’s our 2019 Gino Torretta?

Do these and you’ll find yourself “back” in my opinion. You’ll start to land the decent classes. Coaches will be leaving for NFL jobs or HC jobs in CFB and we are enjoying the ride.

How would you guys fix it?

Coaching coaching coaching coaching coaching coaching= an administration willing to spend money and hire a legit proven guy who's not 3 years from retirement or someone who's never succeeded at a Div 1 P5 program + ponying up millions for assistants.

You get what you pay for.

Hire a ruthless SOB that would fire his mother if it meant improving his staff and winning more.
A relentless person that wont lie to himself into believing that a wide open reciever dropping a pass had something to do with his defense being good.
Then give him everything he needs.

The answers have been obvious for years. I don't think there's any fixing it, brother. Every 10 years or so we'll sniff the top 10 but that's it.
