8-5 is doable next year and if coach Golden wants to stay, I don't see them firing him with that record. Even 7 wins might be enough
Bull****, the expectations were and still should be win the ACCOGTFO!

Tom Herman just win a national title with a third string QB.
Are you ******* kidding me?
the only person who effectively keep the program clean was Randy. Ironic that Nevin happened during his tenure because he ******* WARNED everyone that Nevin was bad news.Meh, I think Shalala simply put too much emphasis on "keeping the program clean." I don't think it is so much a matter of her not caring, but rather our ****ty success over the past several seasons has proven that you cannot make image your number one priority and have a nationally relevant football program. It was a dumb idea to start with, but at least her heart was in the right place. I still think we are better off without her; I do not believe that the repeated failure of this ideal would be enough to curtail her efforts, and the football program would suffer.
At least with Al Golden we began to see the administration trying to hire a good coach. The Coker and Shannon hirings were unacceptable, among the worst college football hires I have ever seen. I think that Golden, at the very least, was a good hire, even if he turned out to be a ****ty coach. Stick with that formula, and we will find a good coach eventually. That said, we would be better off offering prospective coaches a little bit more money, so that we do not have to find these "diamond in the rough" types. I have long suspected we can afford much more than we have previously been willing to pay.
And yeah, Golden is as good as gone after next season. "The cloud" basically gives him another year. We all know that "the cloud" is no excuse for a 6-7 season in Golden's fourth year, but at the very least I see some long-term thinking and logical planning going on in one way or another by the administration in that regard. It's all politics; Golden is a coach who is very popular with the national media, and he did a very good job of making it look like the cloud is an excuse for his failures. He made it look like he turned down a lucrative job from his Alma Mater. He made it look like he was loyal to us in the Nevin Shapiro scandal, even when he leveraged it against UM to secure an undue pay raise. It doesn't matter that it is all bull****, we basically have to keep him for one more season simply because of the ****storm it will kick up if we fire him "prematurely." I promise you that this is the only reason Al Golden isn't coaching linebackers for Wichita State right now.
From what I know of, through legit, barring a miracle season by Golden, he will be gone after this season for sure. As cowardly and ridiculous as it is, and insufficiently justified, they will not fire him due to the buyout and lack of new president. Unless he wins 9 games impressively he is gone, and as stated he couldn't win with leading passer, stud running back, stud MLB, Mackey award finalist, top 12 drafted LT and more than enough NFL draft prospects, what makes you think he will win next year? Unfortunately he will be gone.
Knowing what I was told, here is what our motus operandi should be:
1) Recruiting - yes any weirdo or ******* that is contacting kids, seriously stop it, its just weird. And it does not help, recruiting kids is a lie to begin with, so let's not aid in hurting it. Regardless of the talent this fool brings in, he will not be able to do anything with it. There have been plenty of instances where a bad coach still managed to bring in top talent for the new incoming coach to take advantage of, i.e. Urban Meyer at OOF, Saban at Bama. So try not to be that fool negatively affecting recruits, we should still want to attempt to bring top talent in.
2) $$$$ - do not spend a dime on the program, nothing nada zippo, this action will speak the loudest throughout the year. With this action and this action alone, will the clear message that Folden must go be heard.
3) Heat - all those that can coherently and intelligently voice their displeasure, keep it going. Retweet those that do, share those that do and make sure the University and Flake and anybody else that has a voice are tagged in it. The typical ignorant sounding, reffy pitbull wannabe chusma comemierda from Miami, just be quiet, just retweet or share those that speak or write intelligently and see action #2
That is all that can be done. If these things are done, trust me after next season the cowardly ******* who coaches scared to lose will be gone for sure, and if all stays true then like I have been told now, Butch will be the choice.

Waiting another season to hire Butch makes ZERO sense. There is no way that is the plan.
If they are giving Golden another season, best believe, they will hire someone other than Butch.
I can imagine there are more than a few coaches who have been made aware that there would be interest in them if the job was open. And the ones with reciprocal interest will have their agents watching Golden's season.
From the final AP top 25 ... The only legit HC we could get is Fuente, from Memphis. Holiday (Marshall) and Whittingham (Utah) might be good options, but I doubt either is the right "fit" for Miami. Nobody else is leaving their current school to come to Miami, IMO.
