We hired manny diaz why does any of this come as a suprise??

I was initially livid that James squandered our get out of jail free card that Richt handed us. How do you make a coaching hire of this magnitude without interviewing anyone else? It was lazy. With that said, I genuinely wanted to believe that it would work out and was encouraged by a lot of the things Manny said. Turns out we were scammed once again. Manny is in over his head.

He's 5 games into his Miami career lol. Don't forget he's taking over a 7-6 Miami team last year. He definitely needs more discipline in his program because this relaxed way of coaching is not working. Let's see how he does next year before were all ready to jump to conclusions. I understand everyone wants instant gratification and thinks because we're Miami we should be elite because how good our teams were 20+ years ago but we need to face reality. Diaz took over a 7-6 football team on life support in January when recruiting season was basically done. Let's see if he's able to turn things around next year.

If we are getting beat by FSU and Virginia by narrow margins I think we could all live with it in year 1.

Losing to Florida was a high point of the year
The last two against CMU and VaTech is the low. Unless you are an idiot we are a lot closer to the lows than highs, and we haven’t even gotten into conference play

I’ll say it again, everything is relative, and outside of just blindly saying “it’s year 1, Manny needs time” there is no tangible reason why Miami should be this disappointing 5 games into the year. Show me one single area of improvement this team has made from 2018 to 2019

I think it is the nature of being a fan. To have the drive to go the game and support the team. Why would you go to games if you know there is no hope of winning? For me, I just wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Wishing and imagining just enables the mediocrity.

Manny Diaz was the worst hire of all time. By far the worst.

If you “got behind him” then you are part of the problem.

Another genius here.

“oh oh he said violence, he must be awesome!!”

Like I said, I hated the hire. It was incredibly lazy. I never said I thought he was going to be awesome. But once the anger wore off I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt because I didn’t see the point in complaining about the hire for another 8 months until the season started. Unfortunately the early returns are not good.

Part of the problem? What did you want fans to do after the hire? Not go to games? Not support the team? It is not like we "fans" have any say of who the incompetent AD chose for us. We were faced by the new reality that we had Diaz as our HC. What we were supposed to do?
Supporting the players and cheer for them has nothing to do with "supporting the coach" as you proclaim. So what was I suppose to do so to not "get behind him"? Mind you all this talk is about the immediate period following the hire. After given a chance to show his coaching skills or lack of, then we can hold him accountable.
Please come down from you high horse and face reality we fans face.

The rollercoaster of emotions within that 24hr window when Richt resigned & those ****** idiots hired Manny was insane. We had a get out of jail free card, but our admin insists on setting this program back constantly.

I was deliriously happy when Richt retired. Was going through coaching lists, looking at salaries, debating pros and cons. The sun was shining and Miami has a chance to return to glory only 1 season removed from being #2 in the country. Was relieved Diaz was at Temple since I knew he would have been the lazy hire. Miami could clean house on both sides of ball and finally go to a spread offense. Did not see Miami paying Temple millions for Diaz. Paying Oregon for Cristobal, sure. But blindsided by the Diaz hire.

"Ok, well, he's a sabermetrics guy. Surely he will make smart hires and go to the spread." Nope, another pro style OC then kept the same loser staff. The thing that most signaled he was not ready was special teams. Miami had been awful the last few years. That's low hanging fruit, easy fix, and worth at least two games alone. He hires some nobody from La Tech. Obvious he didn't take special teams seriously. And here we are.
