Everyone needs to take a deep breath and relax. If JT doesn’t muff his punt or we don’t miss a few chips shot fieldgoals or don’t allow a ridiculous 4th and 17, we’re 2-0 on the road. It’s not as if we’ve been blown out and not competitive. I see tremendous signs of hope with this team and I see a future. Why?

1) Qb. After 2 tough road games, Jarren Williams looks as good as any Miami QB since ... Bernie? The man is accurate, strong arm, tough and is getting better with every snap.

2) Enos. I played college ball and if guys don’t see his play designs and his ability to adjust, I’m sorry but you’re just ignorant. Guys were wide open last night and against Florida! That’s enos. He had UNC’s defense lost most of the night and had it not been for a holding call that negated a big run, I think we win by 10+. Drops, holding calls... not his fault. That’s on the players executing.

3) Diaz. This team could’ve rolled over and died against Florida multiple times... could’ve done the same down 17-3 to a newly inspired UNC team coming off an emotional win against and SEC team and on the road.

Guys, we wanted Jimmy outta here after his first season and we all thought butch was a joke and flew banners to fire him. Everyone needs to calm down and put things in perspective.

Having that our defense is slow. We might have 1-2 potential players but every player on defense looks like a 2nd team guy except Bandy. Btw, anyone here ever play cornerback? You get burnt sometimes. It happens. Bandy is the only player on this defense that resembles and ‘old cane’

DL sucks, LBs, suck and secondary sucks. Fortunately, our defensive coordinator dials up pretty good blitzes which is why we had them 4 and 17.

We have a new coach, new coordinators! Games like these will happen. We have have a lot of reasons to be hopeful.

But we are NOT!

Mostly, agree. Especially with your overall outlook. Disappointed we lost, not in the way we played or the effort given. We left 7 points on the field and despite all the factors you noted that would have been enough to win, this week and last. Gotta walk before you run. I see positive signs for changing the culture from that ****show last year..🙌🏿CANESNATION

I agree with you! We r 7 points from being undefeated. And the losses were more from us not executing than the opposing team outplaying us. I am hopeful. I won’t make a judgement until the end of the season. We r far from complete and will continue to grow as the season progresses. See you all next week!! Go Canes

I agree with you. Offensive playcalling was fine. Some plays are going to get blown up. As Canes fans we are so jaded and we like to have revisionist history that the old Canes teams scored on every offensive snap.

Defense was super disappointing they shouldn’t have given up 10 points to this bland vanilla offense but it’s clear hitting 3 fades/streaks a game is the great equalizer.

I’m just wondering where are these amazing pass rushers at?

To your amazing pass rusher question.

Direct that to the insiders who kept telling us Jon ford is unblockable and Garvin is a first rounder...etc

They give us this bait so we can be happy in the off season and yet like clockwork...those players are even 95 percent to what they claim.

If they would have told the masses.." Hey guys, these guys are just average players, we have a long way to go" the ppl at CIS would actually have realistic expectations

But since all we hear is that " we have the best dlinemen room in the country" and " name be a better wr group in the ACC"

Im not surprised the audience gets ****ed off because of false expectations

We just lost to UNC. Stop it. One thing to lose to UF but another to see this program continue to lose to inferior talent with poor play and coaching. Stop the excuses and instead hope our guys get it turned around.

As fans, we should demand more of them without being poisonous about it.

I'm with the OP, but, man, it's been almost 20 years of this. That people are ****ed is totally acceptable. I hope the team feels more like the posters that are irate.

You bring up a great point. We expect Garvin to be some top 15 pick so we expect to see domination but it’s just not there.

That being said we need to stop being that team that can go either 10-3 or 6-6 because we play in so many close games. We need to be a team that at least takes care of middle and bottom of the pack teams like NC.

NC has a coach who has been on the sideline for 12 years and a team that is lacking really good players.

Banda, Patke, Stubblefield are a bunch of JAG coaches with no future on any power 5 staff in a level higher than they are already at. The fact Patke is coaching Special Teams is an insult to how important that part of the game is.

I thought Manny was better than this. I also have always said I won’t complain about anything Manny does on the D because of our success rate. So because I don’t like Banda or Patke I personally let it slide but after yesterday’s game not sliding anymore.

I really like Blake Baker but this isn’t conference USA you need to make better calls . Blitzing on 4-17????? WTF We have barely been proving any pressure on the QB. Our DE have been disappearing and I’m blaming that on whatever play calling Baker is doing.

I know we have a bunch of divas at WR, but not one of the bench guys did anything when given the opportunity. No separation, Pope catches a pass and try’s to make several moves that didn’t work, this isn’t HS. I hear rumblings guys where unhappy that Martell was playing but I don’t think I saw Tate one time. That drop my Hightower was so LAST YEAR, you cannot drop balls like that. WAY TO MUCH WR rotating last night, and I’m sure it was to make some of these guys happy but you can’t get any rhythm like that. Save that 💩 for Bethune.

Jarren still looks like he’s not 100% comfortable in the pocket, his stats looked good but he looked panicked still. Sam Howell looked like we wasn’t rattled one bit.

If making Manny the HC and getting worse on D we would have never wanted that. I heard YOUTH from him yesterday after the game, I’m okay with using that but then don’t give me the talk to the media that we need to be Miami of old.

Manny needs to get ahold of his coaches and have them be Miami caliber coaches or have them kick dirt. No more of this Mark Richt and Al Golden nepotism, if Manny thinks Banda and Patke can be great coaches I think we have larger problems.

I agree with the premise that we've made mistakes in both games that cost us games, and if you eliminate those mistakes than the result could be different. But it goes both ways. Think about how many mistakes UF made too. We still had a chance to win that game because of their mistakes. If Franks didn't commit so many turnovers... or if they didn't commit dumb penalties... etc... Then UF might have won that game by a large margin and we're having a totally different conversation. The bottomline is that we need to demonstrate we can play a complete game and put someone away. We'd beat Bethune-Cookman and Central Michigan simply because of talent levels, but I'm hoping to see some real consistency in all three phases.

This is the worst thing I've ever read. We've been a few plays away for a years. Why should anyone be patient? Why should this be a sign of optimism? also what are you talkin about that holding call we still scored on that drive.

Right now I don't see much of a difference between Randy Shannon and Manny Diaz other than a necklace. I think we ruined both of these coaches careers because they weren't ready to be head coaches. If they could just be defensive coordinators longer maybe work with a few other head coaches first. But instead recruiting damaged goods.

This is a stepping stone job. Why do I think that? Because the only coaches that want it sa destination job are coaches that no one else is really after.
