Not sure how he played, but USCe had a legendary horrible oline this year. Maybe he was the lone bright spot.

Sign him up.

As other posters mentioned, who else do you trust with the offensive line than Mario and Mirabal? Maybe Thompson didn’t have the best of sophomore years but South Carolina is a disappointment overall.

As with any inbound high school recruit or for the transfer the question is, will he put in the work?

Hes a no brainer add to the OL Room from an athleticism and body frame standpoint.

Lot of bad tape at SC but also played in a lot of games. Looks like he had to get adjusted to his weight...he must of put on over 30+ pounds from getting to SC. His coach at the start of last year say he showed up at sc at 265. So he essentially played that whole frshman year undersized ala another sc native and former cane OT Zion Nelson.

Just my opinion, but this is the new redshirting. You can stash a young kid like this in year 1 or 2 for cheap, say 300k while your starters are 4th and 5 year players/transfers that are a bit more costly. You develop the young buck while paying them, in hopes of not having to keep going to the portal at 500k plus every year. (figures are examples only).

This is not to say we're keeping these kids on the bench. They will get game reps. It's just cheaper, and more efficient to build depth and experience this way in today's game.
