I get what you are trying to say in this post but he has not done anything at UM yet.

Repost this in November and we probably can give you an answer.
 
Kind of hard to make a comparison with the lack of target share he has received so far.

But it's also hard to pin him down. He can do a lot of things that attribute to different roles within the receiving game. His quick enough to run inside patterns as the Z and the slot, but he also had excellent reps running X patterns vs Virginia Tech last season and now on the backshoulder vs Stanford. The throw was perfect, but he eliminated every opportunity to contest it with using late hands.
 
As one of the OG Upshaw stans I don't wanna compare him to anyone. But I really like his overall blend of hands, route running, and acceleration. And has definitely added solid mass from year 1 to now. He's in such a great spot right now on the 2nd team to get lots of reps and produce without pressure of being THE GUY. If he keeps progressing at this rate I wouldn't be shocked if he was WR2 next to Mali.

It’s hard to make a comparison for me and I hate how we always have to compare guys to other guys. But when it comes to Upshaw, he is just silky, smooth out there. The route running is so smooth, it immediately creates separation.
