We have serious hatred for Al Golden and co. and for good reason. He was a con-artist that had a binder and that binder gave him an unwarranted long-term extension. We won't Al gone, but realistically, would you leave a job that pays you $2.2m regardless of the hate you get from peers or the outside world when you know upper management has your back? Of course you wouldn't...so while my hatred for Al runs deep, it's running deeper towards those in charge.
They approved a long-term extension and they have become complacent with mediocrity. They've played the "financial restraints" card a lot longer than Golden playing the "cloud" card as a an excuse for mediocrity. Let's just say they balls-up and fire Golden or put the pressure needed to force his hand to resign...then what? What's next? For the last 3 hires, we've hired bums. Coker was gifted w/ Butch's talent, but after Butch's talent left, you saw how much of a corch he was. Shannon, a corch. Golden, a corch. That's 3 corches in a row and now we're expected to believe that they wouldn't hire another gullible corch? Cristobal, Kiffin, Chud....great No. 2 guys but have been proven to be corches when they became No. 1's, yet those are the names tossed around. They don't have the fortitude to make the big splash hire, and they're, too, proud and stubborn to make the obvious hire (Butch Davis). Their delusional statements of the state of our program should show that we are not going anywhere, anytime soon. Until they change, we will be a stagnant program, and that's the sad reality.
