I saw big Warren at the popular strip club everyone goes to after Miami night games post-Notre Dame this past season. He was posted up by a big SUV or something, in his Miami gear. Not a single person dare came up to him, lol, the word is out, dont poke the grizzly bear. My friend who is from Miami said as we were walking in,'F#$% him, he's an *******.' I mean, the word is out about him. If you go up to him now, hey, that's on you as far as Im concerned - do so at your own risk
Reading and hearing all these stories I feel lucky that I actually got him to autograph my Canesport issue at the team hotel in 94 during the Arizona State weekend without getting my right hand taken off. It's clear, he doesn't like regular folks. It is what it is
I'll say this, the overwhelming majority of Canes Ive dealt with in any form have been great, really accomodating in a lot of ways. Most of my memorabilia that is signed is in my office(AKA 'the little Orange Bowl of East LA') and when I look at the stuff I have some great memories of how I got those autographs.
The only guy I ever hesitated to ask was Sean Taylor after a spring game. Seriously, he scared the **** outta me lol. It was the 2003 game where he and Kellen Winslow had this big brawl on the field during the game. He was ****ed and I could sense it ad I was like,'Yeah, I'll get him some other time."
I dont really collect autographs anymore(not that I'll turn them down) but I guess the only one I'd go out of my way to get is Jim Kelly. Just glad I was able to get Sapp looooong ago.
