Wasn't Surrat the starting QB in the game vs them last year? Seems like he didn't do much, got hurt, and the backup came in and outperformed him.

QB Surrat--Starting QB last year

WR B Corrales--6-feet-4 and 210 pounds, Corrales is a big bodied wide receiver that totaled 143 yards and three touchdowns as a true freshman last year. He figures to be a part of the playing rotation.

DE T Hopper--Hopper figures to be a part of UNC’s playing rotation because at 6-feet-4 and 240 pounds, he has an athletic presence on the line. Hopper finished the 2017 season with eight tackles and one sack.

Guys who will not be a factor
OL Q Johnson--RS FR reserve
OL B Anderson--Reserve
LB M Robinson--A back-up weak-side linebacker that is not expected to see much playing time.
OL J Tucker--RS FR reserve

Corrales had a helluva game against us last year (4 rec, 64yds and 2 TDs) . I rewatched the condensed version of the game last night and I remember we struggled MIGHTILY against the run in this game ( they had 2 rushers over 80yds a piece) and they beat us on several jump ball-style plays. If you recall this was the game Malik hurt his shoulder in and struggled down the stretch (even more so than normal) with accuracy (16 for 38; 356 yds and 3 TDs) after this game. We only ran for 70yds in this game.

I know their record sucks, but this, in the past, is the type of opponent and game we've always struggled in. Looking at the success they had the last game (offensively) , I wonder if Pitt is THAT bad or if UNC just had a great offensive plan against them?

They will probably stick with their current qb and if he struggles turn to Surrat.

If Surrat comes into the game, we should immediately bring Zach McCloud in as a spy. I bet he's still having nightmares from their last encounter.

I'm sure everyone on D is salivating at beating the **** out of Surrat again, we just can't let their fat tim tebow throw all over us again. UNC is going to prep for 2 QBs, we should too.

luckily this year -- were far better against the run than we were last year. we struggled with a ton of teams against the run. our d is better this year esp up front (willis is an upgrade over the two last year) and our run D/third down D has been stout. the only thing were missing this year are turnovers, which usually involve a ton of luck.

We did. They pounded us, and we had trouble stopping them. Their two RBs combined for 40 carries for 167 yards.
