UNC FRIDAY and SATURDAY PLANS

Hi everyone,

I have met some of you before but due to a medical condition, I honestly don't remember anyone. The game this weekend is going to be exciting and I just want to welcome all of you Miami fans to Chapel Hill. While you're in the Manning Lot tailgating, right next door is the Carolina Basketball Museum. It's free to enter, and there is a lot of great history in there, if you're into basketball. It may interest you, it may not.

There are several parking decks along Manning Drive in case your lot gets full, the typical cost is $20 to park in those garages. The weather this weekend as of right now is supposed to be nice, assuming Dorien hits us Wednesday/Thursday but as you all know, that could change.

I know you are all tailgating in the Manning Lot but if you want bars/food, you can walk through campus up to Franklin Street which is where most things happen in Chapel Hill. There are lots of restaurants, bars, shops, etc. North Carolina people try to be welcoming and friendly to everyone who visits, unless you're coming from Durham or Raleigh.

There have been lots of upgrades to Kenan Stadium the past few years, including new food venues, improved cell reception, and of course the turf. If you're used to sitting low near the track, your complaint is probably our bushes. Well, they're gone. No more obstructed views. Remember though, clear bag policy!! If you don't have a clear bag, you're not bringing it into the stadium.

If you have a little time before kickoff, you should come to The Pit and watch our drumline and band warm up. While it obviously won't be Miami chants, it's always fun and gets your blood pumping watching the band get going. Then people follow the band into the stadium. If you're coming from Franklin Street, as soon as you cross Columbia Drive where The Old Well is, you'll walk a short while further then you'll see the Student Bookstore on the left. The Pit is right behind the bookstore. (clear bags here, drinks, bathrooms, etc.)

We're very proud of our stadium, our campus, and our great university. I hope you all have a great time in Chapel Hill, and if you're drinking (we sell beer now) then be safe.

I have a buddy who is going to be there and tailgating with you all, and I plan on walking down and seeing him at some point during the day. I'll be the guy buy himself, staying quiet. haha

If anyone has any questions about anything in Chapel Hill, ask away and I'll help anyone the best that I can.

Go Heels!

I’ve been to UNC, UVA, and Duke

My worst experience is with a UVA fan screaming “Put in Whipple” the entire game when Jacory was knocked out and Whipple was out in a series, believe that’s when Morris redshirt got burned
