I don't think that is so far fetched. Nick Saben went from MSU to LSU. Going from MSU to Miami would be a similar move. The right coach can turn Miami's program around very fast and it would make him look good.

Other provencoaches who would be a big splash include Strong, Pagano, Chip Kelly, Mark Richt. Kelly would be the long shot on that list.

Strong wants to come, but might not be good without Hurtt who carries a taint from the Shapiro mess.

It's hard not to overreact when you read something like "It looks like it's going to be either Greg Schiano or Mario Cristobal."

Just use logic. Four million per year and you are gonna give it to Schiano or Cristobal? You could get either for half of that, especially the Cuban Al Golden. They're aiming high first.

The University of Miami has begun the process of determining the next head football coach following the dismissal of Al Golden on Sunday.

It has been previously reported that UM is willing to pay an annual salary of $4 million and InsideTheU can confirm this report according to a source. The source continued:

"They are going to go after an established coach. Guys like Justin Fuente and Tom Herman or any of the other coordinators are not even going to be considered. It looks like it's going to be either Greg Schiano or Mario Cristobal. Some guys want Butch Davis, but some people at UM, regardless of how he left, believe he has too much baggage with the NCAA stuff at North Carolina. Even though he was cleared, they're worried he might get busted again."
