Let’s discuss the matchup 2017 vs 2020. Thoughts?

Here is some notes

2017
Clemson won that game 38-3
Young Etienne was there so was young Harley, McCloud and Jennings. They all will play key roles next Saturday
Clemson has the #2 defense in the country, elite DL and a bunch of future 1sr round picks on that squad
UM did not have key O players Herndon, Richards and Walton were injured
The score did not show the real story of the game, that game was closer then the score.


Key negatives plays by UM

Rosier under-throw wide open Jeff Thomas on his way for a TD
Easy FG missed by Badgley
Awful 10 yard punt by Feagles led to easy score
We had 2 key 3rd down plays just inches away from 1st down. Richt did not go for it
Clemson fumbles then recovers it 20 yards closer to the goal line
That was the game so early. Then Jeff fumbles and Rosier throws two interceptions


Clemson 2020
Far superior QB and far superior version of Etienne
DL inferior vs 2017
OL inferior vs 2017
LB inferior vs 2017

UM 2020
Rhett vs Richt - far superior OC calling plays
Far superior QB
Better, more dynamic RB stable
TE far superior vs that game Crew in 2017
Safety superior. Just because we got the better version of Redwine and Jaquan in 2018
Kicking & punting game 2020 > 2017

OL same level
DL same level. 2017 was better vs the run but 2020 is more disruptive on the edges

WR Thomas, Berrios superior than 2020 crew
CB MJ, Maleek superior than 2020 crew
LB 2017 > 2020

keep thinking this is a close game and we can pull the upset

2017 we beat a bad noles team by 4
2020 we beat a bad noles team by 42
we are far superior now then back then

This thread and poll is a display of the amount of püssies with loser mentalities that we have overflowing in our fanbase. OP should probably “root” for a new team.

Results so far show that about half of our fanbase is bítch made, sounds about right.
 
The 2020 game against Clemson was really an even bigger rout than the score suggested. We had a fluky 10 point swing go our way when we blocked a Clemson FG and ran it back for a TD.

The 2017 Clemson game was about what the score said it was.

Neither the 2017 or 2020 Clemson teams have really been among the best Clemson teams lately. Both lost a regular season game (including the 2017 team losing to a 4-8 Syracuse team) and then got routed in the first round of the playoffs

Cager also better than our current WRs

I think the 2017 RBs were better than what we currently have. Walton and Homer

that isn’t to say our freshmen now won’t end up better.

but that was a **** fine stable of RBs

Our WRS are a **** show now.
If we had those WRs now, we’d be playing in the Orange Bowl in 2.5 hours.
