When the boss, whether BoT or Stephen Ross of the Dolphins, and your team sucks and going nowhere fast, you tend to go in other directions to make you body of work look relevant. UM looked away from Football excellence to graduation rates (now since fleeting), UHealth, and medical research. I have this distinct impression that with the local product of recruits in our backyard about to experience a coaching change in UM, making UM great again is not far from reality, particularly with a more open playoff system.

Stephen Ross and his Dolphins are a whole other matter. Ross have been doing a whole range of phenomena to put life into his Dolphins, outside of the usual running of a professional Football operations. Marketing gimmicks that don't impact the product on the field, but "might" fill some seats. Unfortunately, you may fill the seats, but losing will surely reverse any gains made in filling seats.

So what do you when you the boss? Oh, you go fight social justice and and take on the big elephant in the room of America named racism. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/10/16/s...r-backs-new-effort-to-combat-racism.html?_r=0 I suppose the fan base of the Dolphins would be thrilled to have one of America's ugliest dilemmas thrown in their faces.

With that new direction for Dolphins, it's paramount that UM move to hire the next great coach, whether that be returning Butch Davis to take the reigns of UM Football, making a serious run after a Nick Saban, Chip Kelly (he won't survive Philly), a Herman or even Tuberville. My preference is to hire Butch Davis, pay him $3,OOO,OOO, and give him another $3,OOO,OOO - $3,75O,OOO to hire the best coordinators in Football, put in a hard buy-out $1.5M if if these coordinators may not be here after 1 year or two. UM can't afford up and comers...UM BoT & Admin have experimented enough ! If you get another up and comer, you won't win now, but the patient goal is that you might win later in 2018 - 2019, at best, if you gonna win at all.

It's all about timing in So Fla right now. Moving to hire the Butch coach to make Miami great again is more essential now than ever as the Dolphins are sure to suck for at least the next few years through 2018. Times through which another great UM team can assist a novel marketing system targeting the then-disenfranchised social justice chasing Dolphins organization's fans, and make them our own....

to keep and nurture...

with Championships.

The best in the business at bolding words in his post. I don't know what the pattern is, but nobody has you beat in that area.

It is just stream-of-conciousness. It doesn't even make sense and the topic goes back and forth between UM and the Dolphins. I am dumber after reading that post. Thanks, Cane2.

Dude, it's at MB. Folks don't take the time to read. UM & Dolphins share stadium and a fan base.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, OP's articles are consistently awful.

Please tell me you're writing this drivel for some College Comp 101 class.

Indeed, issues regarding UM descent into mediocrity and reversing such descent are rarely anything but complex issues to tackle. Addressing said complex issues would require multi-pronged strategies overlapping several disciplines.

While reading is fundamental for even the most rudimentary comprehension, let me try to simplify for those of you fine gents without the intellectual rigor and with little attention span, if any.

ok, here we go:

Both UM & Dolphins suck now and in recent years.

As one’s team suck and reversing the mediocrity proves difficult, you try to exhibit other finer “virtues” of your organization; UM did so by emphasizing ballas’ high graduating rates, UHealth, & UM stellar academic standing while Dolphins & Boss Ross do this by marketing gimmicks and now moving on to tackle social injustice.

But, fans tire of all the other “virtue” peripheral crap when the product suck, they just want good Football for their time & money.

Be that as it may, in S Fla UM has better chance to rise from mediocrity than Dolphins.

Why? Because 1.) UM can hire a Butch Davis while Ross would probably hire another loser coach, and 2.) UM players & incoming players would be better at beating their collegiate competition than Dolphins in beating the Tom Brady & crew in the League.

If UM honchos go the route of going after another program builder, then by the time UM get off Golden floor of sucking and move on to winning, Dolphins may also get back to some winning. Consequently, those Dolfans may not make the journey to UM in 2018 to just stick with their Dolphins. It is therefore highly plausible that Dolphins will suck for years to come while the Canes flourish. Dolfans who would tire of Dolphins sucking on the field while Dolphins organization chase the complex dynamics of social injustice. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/10/16/sp...cism.html?_r=0

Does that constitute an opportunity ripe to exploit? Yes, it does:

While Dolphins will be sure to suck as I project, UM should have Butch get players in winning ACC Championship mode next year, and into the playoff conversation narrative and competing to win it all 2017. As UM players are producing beautiful winning Football, suffering Dolfans would find themselves open to UM initiating a marketing plan leading them to fill Sun-Life Stadium, particularly when Dolphins will be as irrelevant I project and UM ballas are S. Fla native sons.

i'm sorry, but what's going on here? not trying to be disrespectful, i'm just confused.
