I have been touting Tyrique Jarrett for a while he is from the Pittsburg Area an had grades issues which is why he had to go prep, but is that is all squared away now. He is country strong and big as a house 6'3 320lbs an can run like a dear. The only program I think that could pull him away from Pitt is Miami, along with almost certainty that the Pitt coach will return to Wisconsin to be the Head Coach, leaving Pitt looking for their 5th coach in 3 years. I am thinking this kid is just what the doctor ordered for stout NT, especially now that Kieth Bryant has decommitted.

Here are his Milford academy 2012 stats through the first 2 Games, I repeat only 2 Games. 1.5 Sacks, 3 tackles for a loss, 4 tackles, and 1 forced fumble; that sounds like some serious production to me.

As for Jarrett's total year which was 7 games his stats are: 3 sacks, 7 tackles for loss, 13 solo tackles, 13 tackle assists, 34 total tackles, 1 fumble caused, 1 Int, 1 Defensive INT TD, and 1 Field Goal Block for a TD.

He did have grades issues but those have been corrected at prep school, so I am wondering why UM is not giving him a look.

In Tonight's Pitt vs FSU game look for #54 at NT for Pitt that's Tyrique Jarrett an the young man should have an impressive game tonight. I think UM missed a good one from the 2013 class.

Tyrique Jarrett ACC Co-Defensive Lineman of the Week
By CardiacHill on Sep 15, 2015,
Last week, three Panthers won weekly ACC awards for efforts against Youngstown State. This week, Pitt had another award winner with tackle Tyrique Jarrett taking home ACC Co-Defensive Lineman of the Week honors.

Jarrett was extremely active in the backfield, channeling Aaron Donald while racking up five tackles, including three for losses against Akron. He was part of a defense that limited the Zips to only 47 rushing yards on 24 carries and a total of seven points.

The Pitt defense played very well in poor conditions on Sunday and Jarrett was right in the middle of things. The competition will surely get tougher but based on what we saw out of the defense last year, there are also reasons to be encouraged. The Panthers nearly pitched a shutout against a team that defeated them last season and as younger guys get more experience, they will only get better the rest of the way.

Funny how you guys are all experts on talent.

I remember talking years ago to the late Bob Karmelowicz, one of our best DL coaches ever, and he told me what he looked for in a DL recruit. He didn't look for finished talent. He said, if I knew of a kid with certain dimensions--and this kid has them--he would have taken a close look. He said he could take the raw material and coach it up. I think he might have considered this kid very seriously.

Of course, back then, there were not as many young kids that were 6'1"-6'3", and 280-300. That was the size he was looking for. Now we're seeing more of the kids at that height that are already over 300. Still, if a kid comes along, with mobility, I'm sure coaches might at least take a closer look. I don't care whose backfield he was in, but if he can beat blocks and penetrate, he might be a prospect. After all, when you evaluate a kid in HS, you're only seeing him make great plays against HS teams. Are they better than Akron? (I'm sure some of you will say yes, but that's a worthless comment).
