Tyler Clark 2016 DT from Americus, Georgia as a potential Miami prospect.

The 6-foot-3, 295-pound Clark was a force at the Rivals Camp in Atlanta and was among the top defensive linemen in a group that included several four- and five-star prospects. Despite his talent, Clark is a little off the beaten path for most schools and has caught the eye of just three major programs to date. That is likely to change during the spring evaluation window, when most major programs will make it a priority to see Clark in person. His combination of size, speed and explosion at defensive tackle are always at a premium, and there figures to be plenty of major programs that will join the battle for Clark soon.

Clark was named best DT at the Georgia rising stars all star game for Juniors, however it is was 5* DT Derek Brown that won the game MVP Award with a team-high 9 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, and a forced fumble. Now Clark was no slouch either; finishing with 8 tackles, 2.5 tackles for losses, 2 sacks, 1 pass breakup and 1 quarterback hurry.

The state of Georgia is absolutely loaded with DT's and NT's for 2016 an this is one of the rising prospects Miami could land simply based on numbers available; if Miami's starts recruiting the kid from now. Clark currently has offers from UGA, Auburn, and Wake Forest I believe his only the WF offer is commitable an I would go with UGA as has favorite but they are looking at higher ranked kids an don't have alot of dline room for 2016. I will say this Clark will need a red-shirt year to get his strength up, but his quickness is there already and he shows sound technique both as a 1 gap or 2 gap player setting the edge as a D-Tackle.

Best defensive tackle: Tyler Clark, 6-3.5, 290, Americus Sumter: Every year at RisingSeniors, there are unknown players who arrive at the game with no offers … and their lives are forever changed. Clark may be that guy from the 2014 game. He had coaches, players and scouts asking all week “Who is that guy? What’s his name? Where is he from again?” Clark replicated his stellar play in the game, finishing with 8 tackles, 2.5 tackles for losses, 2 sacks, 1 pass breakup and 1 quarterback hurry. Clark could have his first big offer by the time … you finish reading this sentence.

Just thought I would get the discussion going about a prospect at a position that Miami needs for 2016.

Unfortunately as no surprise Clark has named UGA his leader, but this maybe good news for Miami because UGA will most likely only take 2-3 DT's in the 2016 class. Which leaves a lot of the other quality DT's in Georgia up for grabs.

DT Tyler Clark Americus (Ga.) Americus-Sumter. Clark is one of the best-kept secrets in the Southeast, with only three offers on his list to date. Georgia, Auburn and Wake Forest are all high on the 6-foot-3, 290-pounder's list but it might not take long for more programs to add to it once they get a look at him during the spring evaluation period. Either way, we have seen enough of him to put him as one of the top defensive tackles in the Southeast and his ranking will soon reflect that.
