Trent Dilfer blasts portal/NIL abuse

Dilfer's cappin'. Who believes this s-h-i-t:

“They are in my office in tears. ‘I don’t want to leave, but my dad is being told by the collective or by my high school coach, or by the frickin’ player director at Power Five school, that I can make way more money with them than with [UAB].’ He’s crying. He doesn’t want to leave. It is tampering.”
MAYBE 1 kid did that lol. These kids are mercenaries now due to the structure in place. You probably have a handful of guys on your team that are die hards imo.

Trent Dilfer is a pud.

Back in June he publicly dared coaches to try to get his players to transfer. Said he would go public with DMs that prove tampering. Said he would go on sportscenter and give names of coaches who are doing it.

Well.. he made those comments 2 months AFTER Bama (the ONLY FBS school any UAB player transferred to) had taken one of his players.

So here we are, a month after he talked allll that **** and 3 months after Bama took his player, and he STILL hasn't done anything but run his mouth.

Until/unless he calls out Bama, as Richard Pryor said, he can have a coke and a smile and stfu.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, where were all these clowns (in the various articles) when the $EC was conducting their ”Player Hubgrub” all these decades?
I don’t think anyone is saying that didn’t happen. But a few differences….
- money now is a lot more than it was before.
- guys like Jordan Addison were not leaving Pitt for a 1-year USC stint before NIL tampering.
- small school guys were taking a risk before to jump to a big school. that risk in comp level and roster depth is still there but the risk is buffered by NIL money. I’m not saying small school transfers weren’t being paid before, but if it happened it wasn’t out there in rumor mills (maybe just a few elite ones were)…..and I highly doubt it was anywhere close to this level. Small schools are now the minors for P5. Any good player they find or develop is likely gone.
- look at Colorado. Between portal freedoms and NIL, they have over 50 transfers coming in.

As I said, Trent Dilfer wanted to fight John Randle and got ejected as the first QB to punch a different player.

Not the sharpest tool in the shed.
