The No. 701 overall prospect and No. 58 cornerback in the On3 Industry Ranking received his Miami offer less than 24 hours after receiving an offer from Georgia late last week. He told CaneSport he was “really grateful” to receive the offer and was “really appreciative” as a Florida native.

“Coach Will Harris, he called me (while I was asleep), I picked up, he told me he saw a lot of really good things on my tape,” Stevenson said. “He was just telling me really about himself, telling me he wanted to build a connection with my people. That’s kind of how the conversation went.”

Stevenson said the offer came as a surprise considering he hadn’t been in contact with Miami’s staff recently, although he had come brief communication with the Hurricanes earlier in the year after stopping by campus Jan. 18 for the team’s junior day. He said he knows about Miami’s history and the Canes’ legendary 2001 defense and likes what head coach Mario Cristobal has built in Coral Gables, although he remains locked in with Georgia Tech and believes the Yellow Jackets are “perfect” for him.

He currently only has an official visit locked in with Georgia Tech and doesn’t plan to visit anywhere else. However, he said Harris mentioned trying to get him to South Florida for an unofficial visit at some point.
