Thoughts on Jaelan Phillips

16 tackles with 3.5 sacks as a freshman is mediocre now?

Do you expect guys who are built for 4-3 to naturally fit as a OLB in 3-4? The DT from UCLA had an even worse drop in production but we want him too.

He was the number 1 player in the nation in 2017 but hasn’t lived up to expectation at UCLA as he posted mediocre numbers and retired after 2 concussions in his sophomore year

How bout the nerd recruiting site evals were dead wrong, dont blame the player he didnt rate himself!

The UCLA dt has to be talking to him too and now this could be the biggest addition in the portal so far. Y'all need to get that these West Coast kids are respected and when they seem down and regret their original choice UM is showing they're ride or die to those kids so trust other West Coast kids are going to want in too

I hope you guys realize that the reason he didn't put up the numbers is because he was injured. The problem with him is staying healthy not talent, he has NFL size and speed. If he can stay healthy he has all the makings of a star.

The guy played less than 4 games this past year what kind of stats do you expect from him? He started the majority of the games he was healthy for his freshman year.

41 tackles and 4.5 sacks in around ten games while dealing with injuries is not too bad and would be a worthy addition.

Srry just saw some highlights from his freshman year. With good coaching from a high quality coach like simpson kid could be a monster.

Kid got hit by a car and dealt with multiple injuries. Wasn’t even suppose to see a field for 12 months and he jumped in after 4 and you’re here talking about “mediocre”

Hey, you know the hardass brigade...

He played for Chip Kelly. We all know how he handles players that make it into his dog house. While I don't think he is worth the 40th overall ranking ever by 247, we still have to bring him in.

He's a talent that u bring in. It wouldn't hurt to bring him in then he would to the scout defense. If he is as good as we think offense gets better practicing against a player that caliber
It's a win-win.
