This years Mike Jack?

I predicted Jackson’s surprise year last season. And I think he’ll have another Mike Jack year taking his game to an even higher level.

If I have to choose someone different, Trajan Bandy.

Lol man, I think Patchan has potential to be good too but that ONE play vs FSU can’t be what yal are basing that on still , two years and a position change later . 8 sack predictions lol

WRs the size of Lawrence Cager aren't supposed to have his agility and fluidity. He's another year removed from a major injury. Stick him in a trips bunch with a 2-way go and I don't know who can cover him.

But if the coaching staff just sticks him on the boundary again to run isolation routes and go for 50-50 balls then it'll be another disappointing year, so who knows.
When you have a 6'5" receiver the QB should be able to make those 50-50 balls more like 70-30 or 80-20.

10 sacks? More than any STARTER has had on this team in over 10 seasons, you think the guy 4th on the roster at best has a chance of achieving?

10 is pure optimism, but I think 8 can reasonably happen if he plays a whole season, but I think this is what this thread is about. He got some talent, and it's matter of being healthy. Let's assume we play a 14 game season, 8 games out of 14 he gets one sack. Let's be realistic, Trent Harris didn't start and he had 8.5 sacks last year, so it can be done, assuming he gets the same snap count as trent.

Hopefully it's one of the tackles, Bethel, Ford or Willis that take a big leap forward.

Derrick Smith wouldn't count as the "Mike Jack" award receipient. Smith flashed his talent immediately. Dean cant count either as he flashed ability but as most JUCO guys had a hard time realizing he has to come up and tackle if you want to play CB at the college level. He will be fine.

There were some on here who were ready to ship Mike Jacks a$$ out of here this time last year. He literally was someone we expected to get nothing from and came out of nowhere to be a national name... So with that said..

Has to be either Patchan or Cager. For some reason I have my vote for Cager. I just think he blows up. Would love for it to be Patchan because we will need him in 2019 but I just don't know if he will get the reps to really do what Mike Jack did. Hes got JJ, DJ and Garvin in front of him and they aint giving up those spots for nothing.

I’d say Patchan is the most qualified for the reward. I know I had no faith in MJ going into last year spring camp. I thought he was a roster filler. A little different scenario because MJ was just behind other talented guys and didn’t play much.

Patchan has played some but his problems are injuries. I think if he’s healthy all season it result in 4-6 sacks. I don’t think anyone really has the potential to be a MJ type story next year.

Cager was an AA in high school so I don’t think the same category as MJ as far as expectations
