This season reminds me of 2002 Ohio St. team

I remember being at the Purdue - Ohio St. game that year when the Buckeyes scored on a fourth down Hail Mary Play with less than 2:00 to go in the game to barely win.

That year they squeaked out a bunch of wins but somehow got to the championship game and we all know what happened there.

Every close win builds confidence. Let's start by beating Vtech and see where this goes...

I’ve been thinking the same thing, if we keep any game close I like our chances, we seem to enjoy the pressure of those BIG moments and we excel in them. Of course we want and try to blow every team out but **** I’ll take a team that doesn’t give up and plays their best ball when the game is on the line. As the roster continues to improve the dominance will come with it but right now a W is a W and we have beat every team that lined up against us so far this year.

been thinking the same thing for most of the year. we tend to play to our competition and, when needed, seem to step it up. we could still win or lose every game left on our schedule I think.

go CANES!!

I hate the cheaters but I can live with that comparison. If true, we better start collecting bribe the refs now in case we need it for the NC against Bama.

Except on espn they would praise them for their toughness and ability to overcome, dangerous team

Us it's were overrated, lucky, we catch breaks, etc etc

.........

Okay. Keep saying that.
We don't have half the talent they had.

Edit:
Some Stats we don't even compare in.
They only gave up 77 rushing yards a game. That would be 4th best in the country this year.
They gave up 13 PPG. That would be good for 6th best scoring defense this year.
They gave up 2.6 yards per carry. That is Alabama-like.
They have 3 POWER 5 blowouts (wins by 14 +) in the first 5 power teams they played.
They averaged 191 yards on the ground that is 20 spots better then us if you put their stats in 2017.
They had Maurice Clarrett. We do not.

Basically that Ohio State team had a championship defense and a great running game with a great RB. We do not.

I've said this in previous game threads. I remember watching that team in 2002 and I really thought the Canes were going to beat them down.

Serious question - Was Krenzel as hot and cold as Rosier though?

That Buckeye team was loaded - NFL players across the roster, just like us.

I have been saying for months now that I would take that sorta season. Close matches and just finding ways to win in games that go down to the wire.

Nobody is saying we are the same team. It is the way that team won with its ability to pull a rabbit out of a hat when needed time and time again (or, in the case of the Fiesta Bowl, a flag out of an official's pocket). I was at a hockey tournament in Buffalo with my son all weekend, and I said the same thing to some folks there about the way we are winning.

We will find out what kinda team Miami is in the next two weeks. This comparison crossed my mind. I even mentioned it on fb but the true test comes in the next two weeks.
