This ranking of college FB coaching jobs is comical...

if you don't see the disadvantage then you haven't been to many on campus stadiums where everything is right there and creates a much better atmosphere overall. I love UM and been going to games since i was 7 but didn't go there, like many others due to cost. I did go to a school that had an on campus stadium and the buildup the whole week when people start coming in on Wednesday and the whole place starts going crazy, is unique and awesome. We don't have that. The stadium is great but it doesn't beat a less awesome stadium that would sit on campus. That just my opinion.

You're talking about a school environment that you get in smaller cities/towns it has nothing to do with where the stadium is located. We'll just have to agree to disagree.

Neutral on this article. I'll bet if we win a couple of ACC titles in a row, all the sudden, we'll be a top 3-5 destination program. The author of this article is basing this **** on opinions. Ask people familiar with Athens, GA how it really is there. It's a crime ridden little piece of crap at and around the school on nearly every side of the campus. I'll take Coral Gables all day every day..

Miami hasn’t threatened to be relative in 15 years. Thru multiple coaches. I can see why someone wouldn’t consider it a top gig.

I am sorry but Miami SUCKS

7-5 average record the last 15 seasons
0 ACC titles
1 Coastal Division title
2 bowl wins in the last 15 seasons
1 natty in the last 28 years
0 recent 1st round draft picks

Hot take: I think a sleeping giant in CFB is Stanford. If they ever actually decided to take football seriously and hit up the bajillionaire tech moguls for bag drops, they would be basically unstoppable. Parents could be "home-based tech support" for Google or Facebook and get paid hundreds of thousands to sit at home and play on computer, and NCAA wouldnt be able to do anything about it. The facilities they could build for the recruits would make Alabama's operation look like a Chuck E. Cheese.

Metro area, great weather, one of richest recruiting grounds, and elite academics, they could be a juggernaut if they ever decided they wanted to win a CFB championship and started cheating like most of the SEC schools (having test takers taking tests to get recruits into school, way lower admission standards for football players, giant duffel bags of cash, fake jobs for relatives, etc).

That's not going to happen because those same tech people aren't going to allow Stanford to be a jock school. They take pride in having those standards.

While I do agree we should be closer ranked, USC does have a stadium. Also, USC is more embraced by their community than Miami. There is so much anti Cane stuff all over S. Fl it's sickening. Also, rumors Urban to USC? When have we had a 3 title coach sniffing around Coral Gables?

You don't really understand the context of the ranking do you? Your attempt to be edgy looks corny.

At least we still have the greatest team in CFB history, if you clicked on that article anyways. I could go either way on the author’s opinion driven article but can see why we are rated where we are currently. It’s incumbent on Manny and his staff to raise the bar set by the great coaches we have had in our history. I strongly believe Diaz gets that and will successfully navigate the team there. But not before we take our lumps along the way.

As to the top schools of course there will be a ton of SEC schools listed in the top 15. They tend to have the better on campus stadiums, the unrivaled facilities (I’d put our IPF against any of theirs), big time boosters who funnel millions in the school’s coffers, and the ability to attract top flight coaching staffs. But make no bones about it, if Manny can awaken Miami again we will put a massive damper on the SEC love fest parade.

I'm just using facts to curb the natural reaction of homers when they read an article like this one.

We stink, have a tiny campus, small enrollment, small alumni base, fickle fan base in a transient city with tons to do on Saturdays, our stadium is 40 mins away, recruiting is national (there is no advantage to being located in Coral Gables unless we play the game), and we were the last P5 school to get an IPF. It isn't a great job for a HC, but is still a nice resume booster for assistants.
