It's almost NSD and my excitement level is .... uh.... nothing compared to the last 40 years.

Why, you ask? Because I realize that we're going to be a middle-of-the-pack team in a weak conference, no matter who we sign. Based on recent experience, we could swap with FSU's class and it wouldn't make much difference. Also based on recent experience, half or so of our commits will either transfer or become JAGs.

I have never been so despondent about our football fortunes (or lack of same)

You can thank ALbort and our lovely BOTs for this mess.

This pretty much sums up how every real, intelligent Cane fan feels about the current state of the program. The only thing I'm rooting for this season is for Golden, Blake James, and Shalala to get hit by a truck.

I couldnt agree more

this is by far the lowest I have ever felt in regards to UM Football

This is worst than 2011 - worse than 95-97 --- worse than Randy's final years

It is so frustrating -- at least during those times I felt like people who could make changes cared..... now I honestly dont think they give a **** and thats the worst part -- it feels like betrayal

Hey Goon, hope you are doing well. And I agree with you, its very hard to get excited about the Canes right now.

Yeah, the recruiting class is unlikely to end up good, and even if by some miracle it is, we have no reason to hope that it will end up translating into wins. And not just in the usual "it takes a year or two to see how good a recruiting class really is" way. In the "not ever going to be good until the program is in competent hands" way.

I'm feeling feh about the whole recruiting thing myself. We certainly have had our share of recruits, highly rated or otherwise, that haven't panned out over the years. What is most worrisome and depressing is that I have no confidence that the guys we bring in will be developed in their skills or put into positions to succeed by this coaching staff. None. They sell the program well enough to some, but Al's coaching and record is catching up to him. The local kids seem to be seeing through the BS and looking at the bottom line W/L. Batting .500 lifetime gets you in the HOF in baseball, football, not so much.

For now, just hope Donna steps down earlier than expected! That will be the sign of one of two outcomes
1. A new president will come in with an enthusiastic approach to football and righting the ship.
Or
2. A new president who couldn't care less about UM football and let's the decline continue

If option 2 comes to fruition, our days of looking for improvements and setting high standards for the football team are "dead" and best for any football fan of UM to except that..

Much more excited for this year's Signing Day than last years.

Forget about Al, we need talent and we have a legit shot at some top guys this year. Should be fun.

I only get excited about the banners now days. Everything else is low T.

Things are so bad with the football program right now people are actually trying to talk about the baggotball team.

+1 for the OP

My expectations have never been so low for UM football. I have zero excitement for recruiting this year.

The only genuine interest I have is Who will be the next UM President, and will he/she care about football?

With the right President, UM football will rise again.

With the wrong President, good football at Miami will be a memory.

Are the mods going to continue to allow the 2 or 3 remaining Don Bailey Jr retards that visit this site to create 5 or 6 separate user names each for the purposes of just negging and negative commenting?

It's funny they're getting THAT desperate...but you'd think this kind of nonsense would be curtailed by now.

It's even gayer when they can report *** schit to the mods and the mods actually react to it.

The one dude had like 8 accounts here and didn't even get banned for that reason.

I blame it all on Donna's **** ***. She has everyone rustled.

Id imagine it feels alot like before bobby boucher played for south central louisiana state university. ( Waterboy reference )

Anyone who still feels any hope or excitement for this program is very low IQ. If you have even a modicum of brain function, then you know the program is sunk no matter what happens on signing day.

Any way we can get Folden, Fake, and the trust fund maggots from the BOT on a Malaysian airliner?
