This is for all the OL mopes

Nobody with an IQ above 75 should have any issue with the pass protection. Not to gloss over it and give the kids no credit....they’ve been good and they deserve it.

But the people who have concerns about the OL and are educated past middle school are talking about a push in the run game. It hasn’t been great. To be fair, I don’t think anyone should’ve expected it to be. It was a horrendous OL in all facets last year. Pretty unrealistic to expect to go from what we saw last year to the early 90s Cowboys. But the scheme change has helped (as many of us talked about all summer), the kids are pass blocking very well (D’Goat’s mobility and quick decision making process has helped), and we’re busting big runs. Our main back is averaging over 10 a clip. The success rate is not there, but the explosive plays have been front and center. We’re averaging 7 yards a play. Not sure about you guys, but I’m happy with that number so far.

FSU’s DL was underwhelming against GT, but they’ll be by far the best DL we’ve played so far. By a wide margin. I’m very interested to see how this group holds up Saturday.

This really doesn’t mean much, because this year’s offense is so much better than last year’s, clearly. But our OL didn’t have much success against FSU last year. We had 40 rushing yards, which was the lowest number of the season. I’m very interested to see how much improvement we’ve really got come Saturday.

Even in the 3 straight wins, our best day offensively was last year with 352 yards. That’s brutal. I wanna see 400+ Saturday. That will tell me we’ve really improved up front.

Agree with @OrangeBowlMagic

Pass blocking has been solid, with King’s mobility and quick decisions helping. The explosive plays from Cam, Rooster, and Chaney are as much the play call and the back rather than having an OL of earthmovers.

They are average to below average from center to left tackle. Above average to good at RG and RT.

But the coaching this year is light years better and the scheme and mobile QB are helping make their job easier.

Overall they are performing much better than expected.

Combination of scheme, coaching, growth & opponent. We aren’t world beaters by any means but it’s been nice to see some improvement. Respect to all. Keep grinding.

I mean, what else is he suppose to say? FSU is going to be a good test for our OL and Offense. We will know how good we are this week.

Then we know who is next..

King didn’t get sacked against Louisville did he? I haven’t had the time to rewatch this game just yet
Espn has only 1 sack recorded
1 sack and PFF gave fault to King for it.
I remember the sack being on a delayed blitzed. King has time to get rid of it or take off but he didn't. It happens. Last year it happened way too many times.
He was sacked once in the first on the opening drive I believe. Idk how King was credited with the sack because he had no time to do anything. It should be credited to Jordan and Cam. They sent a delayed blitz off the edge and with a LB. Jordan got confused and didn't block anyone and Cam got walked back into the qb. King stepped up and got out of the orginal sack but got tripped up as he almost got back to the line....
