- Rooster scores with 11 minutes left in the 4th quarter to put us up 28-20
-FSU gets the ball and puts on a 7 MINUTE drive on his defense to cut the lead 28-23

-We start at the 25 get to the 46 and its 4th and 1...Mind u the defense was just on the field for 7 minutes, why not go for it?
-OK cool u dont go for it, You opt to play the field position game and punt from YOUR 46..cool defense has been ok in the 2nd half right pinning them inside the 10 or so could be great
-Hedley has a GREAT punt but guess what? We don't get our backs to the endzone to field the punt to pin so instead of them starting their drive inside the 5 its a touchback so we basically gifted them 20 yards on the game winning drive. LITTLE THINGS!!!

-Now your defense gets bombed for 59 yards 1st play on a slot fade vs man.
-They defense holds up, fsu gets a false start and it eventually is 4th n 14
-Fsu comes out in trips to the left why? Because they KNOW we are gonna go to zone!!!! How do they know? MANNY CALLS IT EVERY WEEK EVERY YEAR VS TRIPS
-Before the snap manny could've called timeout,see what their in and adjusted to put the players in better position, and tell them PLAY THE STICKS THIS IS THE GAME RIGHT HERE!!ONE STOP....He doesn't.
-They get the 1st on a simple dagger concept, i would rather us play man there instead of zone but thats just the surface of the problem...Its 2021, why are we playing spot drop zone coverage at all?having players read the QBs eyes instead of having them match the route concepts. Thats why we see players just covering grass bro...its 2021 not 1981.
-On the 1, 58 seconds left we have 2 timeouts left Why wouldn't we just let them score and try to stop the 2point conversion then 3 would either tie it or win the game?
-Then before u call the 1st timeout u let 12 SECONDS run off the clock?????...Then u still dont say hey let them score so we can have at least 40 seconds and a timeout to get a field goal? Nope instead he calls a timeout and try to get a stop again when a score from the one is inevitable and we lose a rivalry game.

Complete joke bruh...If anybody in the fanbase or on the BOT is still defending this you are delusional and u obviously don't want this program to ever succeed again.

Did he really think his defense that got worked all night would stop FSU at the 1 foot line? This is squarely in him. I could literally see every assistant coach on the sideline like wtf are u doing. Smartest guy in the room

All you just said is basic lojic,you would think a head coach who is making millions and has been in these situations many times before would see it the same way but not Diaz.This man put/lost his job on his ****** defense getting 4 stops from inside the 1 instead of letting his young stud QB save him as he had the last 3 weeks.I have no doubt TVD would have at worse gotten us into FG range had he taken over with 40-50 secs left.

It's not wild to trust your defense to man up and stop FSU, with one of the worst OLine's in college, from scoring from half a yard out. What's STUPID is calling timeouts. Either you stop them and let them run the time out, or you concede the score and preserve as much time as possible without calling a time out.
 
His flexing was the **** cherry on top of the **** sundae. His ineptitude and hubris there for the whole world to see. Terrible play calling, terrible clock management, terrible decision making, terrible discipline, terrible personnel decisions.

On top of all that, he throws the players under the bus after the game. A chicken ****.

We all keep rehashing the same ineptitude over and over because it is hard to comprehend. I hate saying it but the team that won yesterday was absolutely the team that deserved it. Undermanned they played just as hard or harder than we did, were much better coached, and much more disciplined. That’s how you upset more talented teams.

The thing you brought up that I hadn’t given much thought to, nor have I seen mentioned- why not call time out before the fourth down play? Get the call right, review responsibilities with the players and make them aware that that play was their life on the line.

Pre snap on that fourth down play my kid says to me- this reminds me of the North Carolina 4th and 17…..I knew we were ****ed right then and there cause he was right.

Manny is a terrible defensive football coach. outside of probably Simpson, all his defensive assistants obviously stink at coaching the nuances and techniqes to employ said defense. The linebackers and secondary flat out suck.

Loses to FIU, DuKe, LaTech. Blow outs vs Bama, UNC, MSU and OK State start.

Then, the cherry on the top is to lose to the worst ever FSU team and he makes Travis look like Lamar Jackson.

Amazing how often this admin and many fans that support this like to continuously get slapped in the face.

I made a post about this yesterday. You have two timeouts. A stop ends the game. Timeouts to get a peek and adjust are done all over football, basketball, and really all of sports. We don't use them at the end of halves, and apparently we don't use them to close out a game. Some might say "well, we might have needed them for later." You don't need **** for later if you end the game on an incredibly low % conversion play. I guess the real problem is that FSU could have told Manny the play and we'd still spot drop to nowhere and allow the opponent to play pitch and f'in catch on the most critical play of the entire game. I've seen high school zones with more communication between defenders.
