Think about consistent top 10 recruiting classes each year.

I think we can all agree Mario may not get us to the 6th ring (or maybe he will, idk i'm not sold)

but Mario can turn us into UGA under Richt. 10 wins each and every year. That will help build our brand back as a powerhouse and then we can take the next step
Very possible. This might be what happens

I see your point OP. From my perspective, the critical path creating and sustaining a Top 10 athlete development program.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to complain if they hire Mario. That said, I want a coach that can win with scheme. If you get a guy that can recruit decently and then puts together an exciting, relevant product, the recruiting will get better. People act like Lane Kiffin hasn't had success recruiting, like he's Dan Mullen, who is extremely weird. I can see Lane turning on the charm in living rooms, especially with the Moms, and doing quite well.

What worries me about Mario is what happens when he can't straight up outtalent teams. He hasn't shown the ability to maximize the talent available to him. When you don't hire strong offensive coaches, you tend to have weeks where less talented teams stick around, when you should be able to pull away. Eventually, that will get you beat. If Mario is the guy, I hope Rad or whomever the AD is reads him the riot act and demands that he hires a top end OC and DC. You don't know if Garcia can be productive, you know TVD is likely the goods. Don't waste the next season with him, cash it in and hope he decides that he wants a run at the title and returns in 2023.

This is what I’m hoping our floor is.
That's not a bad floor, but if he doesn't hire good coordinators, I think Miami would be similar to what they are now. When you can't win with scheme, and have to rely on outtalenting people, you are going to drop a ton of games to teams you should probably beat, merely because teams will stick around or you will be outcoached. Keep in mind, Mario has a 7-5, 8-4 year, that magical recruiting ability won't mean a **** thing. That's what is scary about Mario. If he isn't the goods early, he won't be able to get the talent he needs to overcome his issues.

We should win coastal every year. Anything less than that is unacceptable

Mario isn’t my top choice. Probably my 4th, maybe 3rd but with an elite ad and funding pouring in, I can see him doing really well.

Whomever is hc is inheriting the best qb in college next season and with a few portal additions, this team can get to the cfp next year. TVD with an oc that sets the o to TVD s skill set could have TVD making his Heisman case at aTm next season

Just get wittingham sure he probably likes the mormon lifestyle but maybe we can offer like 5 strippers per week to make up for tthe extra wives he can't have here.we already know he is better then mario.
Miami should have looked at Whittingham years ago. He's a far more affordable option, he's the kind of hire a good AD makes, especially when Kyle was having legit issues with his AD at Utah, which apparently got resolved.

You won't win the press conference with Whittingham, but you'd have a **** good team with a solid identity. I don't know if he's the kind of guy that you win titles with, but you'd be extremely well coached.

Can get to the CFP, but let's tamp the expectations down a bit. I'd love to see a coach win 10+ next year, and have a MONSTER first year recruiting class. You do that, and convince TVD to come back(unlikely, but maybe he wants to be that dude that is in the history books), you have a legit CFP contender, and may be able to win it, especially if things break correctly.

I feel like he could be the coach that leads us to like 9-10 win seasons but the fans will get tired of the same thing over and over and will want a coach that puts us over the hump.

9-10 wins sounds great, and most of us are okay with it. What worries me is what happens if he only wins 8 games, and can't get the recruits that he needs. He isn't the kind of coach whose tactical brilliance can get you 1-2 additional wins per year. In a crazy way, Mario is like Butch, but without the insane talent identification skills. They can recruit, but their gameday issues will cost you games, not win them.
