Just to clarify something for those that seem to be struggling with this concept..

NOBODY is saying Randy Shannon should have kept his job at Miami. NOBODY is saying he was a good coach or deserved a 5th season.

People ARE saying that Golden is just as bad as Shannon, and he should suffer the same fate. Similar performance = similar consequences.

So, to recap, Randy Shannon? Bad coach. Should have been fired.

Al Golden? Just as bad, should be fired, too.

Wrong. The night of the loss there were a ton of people using the race card and saying that randy deserved a 5th year. I saw it a multitude of times. Maybe now cooler heads have prevailed but randy deserved the boot. As does Al. Neither could get their guys to show any excitement consistently. Randy's teams were the most bland form of football I've ever seen. No way he deserved another year.

If Golden isn't told to GTFO the very second the Miami-Pitt game ends, at the absolute latest, then this administration is actively going out of its way to sink this program further into irrelevance. It's that simple.

It's not hyperbole to say that keeping Golden kills our football program with FSU heading to the playoff and UF wisely firing their coach well ahead of time and inevitably earning the new coach recruiting bump. It ruins the on-field product and kills recruiting, especially this potentially amazing 2016 class everyone loves.

When an administration chooses to keep a coach who is universally hated by the entire fan base, has already tried to leave for a lateral position at another school, hasn't achieved a dam thing despite having the second-most talented roster in the conference, and has lost all credibility with premier recruits, then it's not just incompetence or being cheap. It goes beyond that.

If both men were paid an amount of cash commensurate with their success as head corch at this U, both men would be on food stamps.
