First and foremost let me say **** the ACC. **** their obnoxious basketball teams and their mediocre football programs. **** UNC and Michael Jordon. **** the officials who have been so atrocious this year it actually costed us the SMU game idc whatever the **** someone call me a “whiner” or whatever it’s the truth. It’s one thing to have a bad call here and there but it’s something else entirely when there’s a handful of game shifting **** calls against us that throw our opponents multiple lifelines until we eventually find a way to beat ourselves. This league has treated us like **** since day one.
Now why haven’t we won this torturous league? Here’s a dumb theory I’ve always had. Miami, in most cases shows up for FSU or Clemson and as long as we’re not completely overrated (FSU in 2013, Clemson from 2015-2020), we either win or lose close. The players nor fans get a shred of excitement for the rest of the schedule. Yes, I do understand the Big East schedule wasn’t overly exciting either but there’s something about playing Duke, UNC, Georgia Tech, and some of the other mediocre programs that just doesn’t entice players to show up. This in conjunction with all the other problems our program has faced over the years has created a perfect **** storm we can’t seem to overcome. Part of me also believes the ACC isn’t as bad as the media and others make it out to be. It’s a league with diverse offenses with above average QB’s that can sneak up on you and catch the better teams sleeping.
